I had a really weird dream:
In 1967, along with "Gleep", a purple Elmo (looking sort of like the "Tickled-out Elmo" from the Simpsons) and a yellow Zoe appeared on the Ed Sullivan show. And those puppets were indeed the actual Elmo and Zoe. It wasn't until SS season 2 that they'd be red and orange, respectively.
And 0125 even had Elmo and Zoe, as their actual names, introduced ALONGSIDE Grover.
And Abby made her debut on Sesame Street in 1971. No joke. She was the one who created Snuffy in 0276 before Big Bird showed up and met him. Her special pupils were not there. She had regular Muppet pupils, sort of like Mecha Abby.
This means Abby is basically Snuffleupagus' mommy here. Deal with it.
And by the way, the only characters Abby regularly interacted with on-screen in her early days were Elmo and Zoe. The others thought of her just like they thought Snuffy: they didn't believe she exists, because "fairies aren't real". They occasionally saw her magic, but shrugged it off.
And then came the Snuffleupagus reveal episode... except that it aired 7 years earlier. In 1978. And it's a double-reveal. Big Bird, Elmo and Zoe are are tired of no one believing the existence to their friends. So they bring Snuffy and Abby to the nest area and reveal them to the adults as "real".
And what's more, i saw Fisher Price Play Family figures of Elmo, Abby and Zoe.
The Abby one kinds looked like Prairie Dawn, but with a different head and with wings glued to the back. Elmo looked a bit like Grover qua body shape, and Zoe was the wrong orange, "Ernie orange", likely to save costs on making molds in a new color.
And i saw a video titled "Sesamstraat - 1976 (Volledig)". And it had Elmo and Zoe in the large Muppet crowd at the beginning of the intro, while Abby appeared with Pino in the intro's sandpit scene.
And they were in the episode. In a sketch where Elmo and Zoe try to replace Abby's broken magic wand with various things that obviously don't work. A sketch that definitely did not exist in our timeline.
Their Dutch voice actors were Peter Piekos (original Cookie Monster) as Elmo, and Hellen Huisman as both Abby and Zoe.
