Sources are now reporting that sportscaster, businesswoman, and Miss America Phyllis George has died. With this passing comes a sad milestone: if I'm counting correctly, this means that half the celebrity guests on the Muppet Show are now deceased.
It was ruled a few years ago that the copyright only applied to a specific arrangement, and that the lyrics and melody are public domain (and should have been for some time).
Makes me suspect that was a joke.
I wonder if the fact that the real-life New York City has been gradually replacing its uppercase street signs with lowercase ones over the past decade will come into play here.
Just as well. I've always found "Tea Lizard" to be a bit out-of-character anyway.
("Tea Lizard" seems to have an attitude of "not my monkeys, not my circus." Kermit, on the other hand, while not a tight controller, feels that at the end of the day they are his monkeys and his circus.)
