Agreed. They'll probably loop old footage of Mr. Johnson with new ones, so why not have old footage of Herry?

With the time SS has now, I don't think they really have time to show him. The last time I remember him having an actual new speaking line was EW: Happy Holidays and in a Season 34 episode where he made a cameo on the street reading, Big Bird said hi to him and he said hi back.

Well, if they split EW from SS like they do over in European countries, then we'd have no problem. XD

Hi... Gonna close this thread in order to go back and read the extraneous posts, figuring out how best to preserve the conversation taking place here better fit for another thread. Thanks for understanding.

Hi... Since the new episodes have started again, I'm reopening the thread. But please, use this only to discuss the new episodes and not go off-topic with anything else that would be better served in a thread of its own, nor anything that would flag down a moderator's interference. Enjoy.

... Today's review.

Episode 4169: Telly the Tiebreaker.
Airdate: September 22, 2008.
Season: Season 39.
Sponsors: A, 9.
Word on the Street: Unanimous.
Street Story.
Politics hits Sesame Street.
Elmo not bemoaning Rocco's participation?
Oh yeah, he has Dorothy to counter. Nice to see her outside of EW.
Did Elmo's voice go down when promising the hula-dancing singing fish?
The spirit of Ed Grimly lives on through Telly.
Animation/Film? A Vote is Worth Counting.
Celebrity/Muppets: Abby, Elmo and LL Cool J explain "unanimous" by going to the beach.
Oscar counters the voting.
Oscar: "Oh yeah Mr. Mama Gonna Knock You Out?"
Film: Walking in the Park.
Letter of the Day: Elmo and Zoe agree on seeing a movie on the letter A, along with an A.
Film: Kids say A.
Muppets: A's Anatomy.
Animation Song: One Fine Face.
Murray Has a Little Lamb: Going to Irish Stepdancing School.
Animation: Wriggle Like an Octopus, another disappointing lowpoint holdover.
Number of the Day: Voting on a movie about the number 9.
What was the name of the 9's uncle?
Animation: Number Guy: How many sheep jump over my head? The answer my friend is 9.
Unknown Animation: Milo Counting to 9?
Muppets: "In My Room".
Film: Kids dancing to an African drumbeat.
Elmo's World: Building Things.
Ending: Voting on doing the limbo while announcing the sponsors, A-Muppet and 9-Muppet.

Animation: Wriggle Like an Octopus, another disappointing lowpoint holdover.
I can't say I never cared for that studio's work. I always bemoan it. personally I like their late 80's rythmatic pieces a little... but these stupid "Wriggle like an Octopus" "Dancing with the _____" and "Jumpin' J" segments NEED to be retired. Desperately.

Anyway, woke up just as it was starting (it was sooo cloudy and dank this morning, I couldn't tell), and after morning ritual (we know what I mean, not talking about it) I got in just in time to see the end of the opening segment (Telly talking about the triangle Dance).

So, the new stuff... the LL Cool J word on the street, the Murray had a Little Lamb, and voting on the letter/number segments was fun. Seeing A's Anatomy again was fun too.... but the old stuff was creaky. Dancing with the Octopus, as I already mentioned, Dullsville, Daddio. And Ernie's song about his room, while it's great to see physical puppet being Ernie and Bert co-existing on the show with their claymation counterparts, was a weak addition to the episode. There are all these wonderful Ernie and Bert segments that could have fit in with the time alotted, but they chose to go with... "oh that one. Again."

So, nice episode, dull filler...
