So, I'd like to say to all the Muppet fans out there lookin' for a decent Fozzie. Which one would you rather get:

Terry's Fozzie...or "Brand X"?

i hate to admit it... but i kind of like Brand X. looks like he's had too much coffee. or maybe it's like Fozzie's family secret... some kind of tiny deformed twin.

Yeah, a plastic replica.. fantastic.
Skip Gonzo, Skip Piggy. Keep to the ones made of fur and fleece. Make them right or don't make them. Bump Fozzie up, start work on Scooter.

I don't know. I say make it out of the real foam. If it rots in five years, that's $50 a year to have a real Gonzo replica. I pay more than that per MONTH for my cable TV and internet. Then they could make replacement noses in 5 years.

I'm actually fine with the "make it out of real foam" solution as well. I'm not going to play with it past the first day. It's going to go into a nice display case, out of direct sunlight. As long as I don't touch it it will probably last 20 years or more.

Replacement noses? Umm...how would that work? You'd have to order them from MR and glue them in yourself, I guess.

Is the vinyl nose do-able if it had the right "texture look" to it? That's what I meant by how Palisades did theirs. Looks like foam but made from plastic.

We're also talking about the whole mouth and nose area. The roof of the mouth, a little bit of the lip that meets the fur, the area behind the nose that flares out and meets the rest of the face, under the eyes, etc.

Maybe they can play around with different types of cloth that would have a foam-like surface texture...or treat the cloth somehow to make that texture, then airbrush it. The "pantyhose nose" Gonzo doesn't look right. They're getting there, but it still lacks something. Certainly with all the types/textures of cloth available, there should be something out there that would work.

We don't want our Gonzo looking like this.

If the poser was made from rigid vinyl, would that not render the poser unposable? I would go for the shorter shelf life of the foam personnally.

What has Animal's bottom lip and eyelids been made from? Surely it should be the same material as Gonzo's nose?

I take it that Piggy is now made from the same material? How bad would it look if Gonzo's nose was made from the same thing?

Just a thought. Will we know what the final Gonzo looks like before they are shipped? We didn't see the finished Kermit before we received them and Animal has been on pre-order for a while without any photos of the final product. It would be nice to see the actual replica before we order.
