I know...and it also seems sometimes that the good people in this world go unnoticed while the bad, evil and just plain obnoxious types get all the attention.
This is where Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas really speaks to me: "Patience, my brothers, and patience, my sons. In that sweet and final hour, truth and justice will be done."

The way I try to look at it, it's a badge of honor at times to be the one rejected by society.

I do think Richard seems to have been one of those people, who took "crazy" as a compliment.

i can't believe he was ever rejected by society, he was like, the greatest guy to ever live! i wish i could have met him, he would have got a long so well with my friends, it'd be scarry, i mean, the whole town avoids us cuz we act so wierd, it's fun though. if you get the chance, wear a cape for a day, you won't believe how many peole will slow down in car's to look at you in shock

man, i hate society sometimes, but at least we still love him and won't let his memory die.

Well, he did get teased a bit when he was in elementary school - and when he had a paper route in middle school, he had a problem with a group of bullies swiping his papers and tossing them into a mud puddle. And let's face it, we've all been there before.

Somebody once said that a person is officially dead once nobody remembers him or her. I think that's a really telling statement. In fact, on one of the MuppetCast tributes for Richard, Steve mentioned something that Jane had told him: when they were going over all the photos, memories and anecdotes, it really felt like Richard had come back.

awe, that's sweet. yea, about the not really dead as ling as he's remembered, in native culture if a person was truely bad, they're name was whiped from all record so his spirit would die. even his name wasn't aloud to be used for 5 generations... or something like that.

and yea, we've all been there with being picked on for being different. for me, at first, i didn't want to be different, and i was misserable then i met my friends i have today, and we're the twons outcast, but we're happy. i think people started calling us freaks the day we had this HUGE watergun fight in the halls at school. lol, i jumped up on a table and yelled 'For Richard and Scooter!' and ran down the hallway shooting like a maniac. lol, oh we got in trouble!

Never mind I'm sure Richard (and also Scooter) would have been proud of you.

If I wasn't so worried about getting in trouble, I would so do that. Of course, my friends probably have no idea who Richard Hunt, Scooter, or Janice are. However, they'll probably find out who Beaker is, considering that we'll be doing "Muppet Labs Friday" in science class.:eek:

I was taking a class the other day and we were asked what websites we frequent. Naturally I mentioned Muppet Central, to the laughter of all present, lol. The teacher asked who my favorite Muppet was and I chose to say Scooter. Note sure he knew who I was talking about, but I was still proud!
