Aw thanks, glad you liked it!

Btw, if anyone is in this area:

"A 40th anniversary celebration of the groundbreaking children’s television show, “Sesame Street,” “Sesame Street at 40—A Night of Celebration and Discovery with the Legendary Cast,” will round out the season on January 30, 2009. This unique program, crafted for an adult audience, features the cast members who have helped shape the Sesame Street neighborhood into one of the most successful children’s shows on television.

The group will assemble as a memorial tribute to New Jersey’s own Richard Hunt, the irrepressible and life-affirming wit behind a score of characters from “Sesame Street” and the “Muppet Show.”

The program features Frank Oz (Bert, Grover, and Cookie Monster); Kevin Clash (Elmo); Caroll Spinney (Big Bird and Oscar); Marty Robinson (Telly Monster and Snuffy); Fran Brill (Zoe and Prairie Dawn); and David Rudman (Baby Bear). Also on the panel are Sonia Manzano (Maria), Bob McGrath (Bob); and composer and writer Tony Geiss. Michael Davis, author of the soon-to-be-published “Street Gang: The Complete History of Sesame Street,” will be the evening’s moderator."

Sesame Street at 40 - ooh, that's kinda scary when you think about it. And "one of the most successful?" Name me one other kid's show that has enough Emmys to fill a warehouse. :excited:

"A memorial tribute to New Jersey's own Richard Hunt..." yes, it's about time Richard was featured on the list of famous Jersey natives/residents.

Yeah really! Not even Barney has that many.

I know, I couldn't believe that! It's been very hard. I mean when Richard passed away obviously the Muppet people did their own memorial for Richard's friends and family, but he wasn't famous enough for it to be public. And then they haven't really done much since then since it's been so long. So us fans got left out of the loop so to speak!

Not that he did any to deserve much. *snickers* But in regards to the special being a Richard tribute...I wonder if this means Don Music clips could be shown again? Such as opening or closing the show with Don butchering the show's theme song? ^_^

Right on. As Kevin put it, Richard was one of the "unsung heroes" of the Muppets. He was one of the driving forces behind the Muppets' cheerful lunacy, but the most press coverage is reserved for Jim and Frank. Not that there's anything wrong with Jim and Frank getting lots of coverage, of course, but lots of other performers need their due.

And when I learned that Richard had ties to New Jersey, I thought, "Way cool!" And stuff like MC and the MuppetCast and Muppet Wiki has helped bring fans back into the loop, so I guess all is well.

More Don action would be awesome, if painful!

I love how they describe Richard as "life affirming." It's rather sweet.

All is well indeed, 'specially now that Richard's characters are being brought back and that there's a future tribute special for him!

Yeah, it'd be nice to see Don Music again...I wonder how they'd handle the crashing-the-head-into-the-piano bit, though.

That's right - Richard was life-affirming, both in terms of comedy and spiritual stuff. He was the one who kept everyone laughing off camera, during moments that would have otherwise been dull or yawn-inducing, and he always greeted kids who were visiting the set with open arms (one of which had a puppet on it).

On the other side of the coin, he was the one who led all the other crew through Jim's memorial, and helped put everything in perspective for the audience with a few choice words about life, love and nature.

OR how about name another children's show that has lasted on the air that long with out going off and coming back.

But It's so cool that they are celebrating the shows 40th anniversary like this! And very nice that it will be a tribute to Richard Hunt too!

Well... Just sent Sara, the founder of this thing a review of my work. Hope she replies soon. *Snatches a few peppermint buttons from the gingerbread chorus girls cooling on the baking rack.
