Well spoken, Jim, very well spoken. We certainly don't see enough of Scooter these days on some of the more current Muppet projects. And it's true; Scooter does appear to be the sweet, mild-mannered young gofer, but he does have his edgier side - when he's channeling Kermit during certain TMS episodes, or barking at the three young monsters to "get back in that basement!"On the Jim Lewis thread, Mr. Lewis recently had this to say about future Muppet projects::
"MORE SCOOTER. DEFINITELY. NOT ONLY IS HE A GREAT GO-FER, A WONDERFUL WAY TO BE EXPOSITORY ABOUT WHAT’S HAPPENING OR SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN NEXT, BUT THERE’S THAT WONDERFUL CALMNESS ABOUT HIM, MIXED WITH A DEGREE OF “MY OWN AGENDA” THAT GIVES HIM TANG AND VERVE. PLUS, HE WAS BORN BY THE INIMITABLE, UNFORGETABLE RICHARD HUNT, BLESS HIM. I’D SAY THERE’LL BE MORE OF SCOOTER. I’LL DO MY PART, AND YOU KEEP CHANTING HIS NAME AND WE’LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS."
Now I'm still skeptical about more recent projects as you know, hehe, but it's still always great to see Scooter getting his due, especially after being gone so long!
And I agree with Jim's description, Scooter appears to be quite innocent and clean cut, but still has that certain independent edge apart from everyone else.
He's also right about Scooter being expository; Scooter makes a really good narrator, and therefore he was a good choice for Alan-a-Dale and the narrator for the TMTM record.
Another thing; the way Jim is singing Richard's praises there, I wonder if he's still making up for that time he forgot to give Richard some credit for his Muppet work?
Took in "Company of Players" when I had some time on my hands this afternoon...you were right about the size of his left bicep, heralde.
