On the Jim Lewis thread, Mr. Lewis recently had this to say about future Muppet projects::

"MORE SCOOTER. DEFINITELY. NOT ONLY IS HE A GREAT GO-FER, A WONDERFUL WAY TO BE EXPOSITORY ABOUT WHAT’S HAPPENING OR SUPPOSED TO HAPPEN NEXT, BUT THERE’S THAT WONDERFUL CALMNESS ABOUT HIM, MIXED WITH A DEGREE OF “MY OWN AGENDA” THAT GIVES HIM TANG AND VERVE. PLUS, HE WAS BORN BY THE INIMITABLE, UNFORGETABLE RICHARD HUNT, BLESS HIM. I’D SAY THERE’LL BE MORE OF SCOOTER. I’LL DO MY PART, AND YOU KEEP CHANTING HIS NAME AND WE’LL SEE WHAT HAPPENS."

Now I'm still skeptical about more recent projects as you know, hehe, but it's still always great to see Scooter getting his due, especially after being gone so long!

And I agree with Jim's description, Scooter appears to be quite innocent and clean cut, but still has that certain independent edge apart from everyone else.
Well spoken, Jim, very well spoken. We certainly don't see enough of Scooter these days on some of the more current Muppet projects. And it's true; Scooter does appear to be the sweet, mild-mannered young gofer, but he does have his edgier side - when he's channeling Kermit during certain TMS episodes, or barking at the three young monsters to "get back in that basement!"

He's also right about Scooter being expository; Scooter makes a really good narrator, and therefore he was a good choice for Alan-a-Dale and the narrator for the TMTM record.

Another thing; the way Jim is singing Richard's praises there, I wonder if he's still making up for that time he forgot to give Richard some credit for his Muppet work?

Took in "Company of Players" when I had some time on my hands this afternoon...you were right about the size of his left bicep, heralde.

You guys do know Scooter will appear in Studio DC, Almost Live 2 next Sunday at 8 PM on Disney, performed/voiced by David Rudman right?
*Waits for the squealing of excited RHLC members to die down.

What's this? David Rudman's going to play Scooter?

You know, that's really appropriate, seeing as David was Richard's best friend/adopted little brother/right-hand man/mountain-climbing buddy. Plus, someone wrote in one of the articles on Richard's tribute page - I think it was D.W. McKim - that David would make a good replacement performer for Scooter.

I've not watched Studio DC at all, since I'm not interested in the peppy antics of Disney's teen-idol flavors of the month (color me cynical, you know), but I might catch this one if I have a spare moment or two.

Well... If you can dive through the posts at the Studio DC thread, there might be some glimmers of the information about how this second special seems to be a more balanced affair than the first with more Muppety mayhem. Let's hope so.

Indeed. This is one instance in which the second installment seems better than the first. Hopefully it does in fact deliver.

Yup, told you about the bicep, hehe, someone spent some time at the gym!

Well you know, young people are often able to see things in a more balanced way than the grown ups, because they are on the outside.

This reminds me of a Blog entry I once wrote about Scooter's Muppet video: http://herald7.wordpress.com/2007/06/11/5/ (Note: Ignore Ad at the top lol)

Well again, skeptical about Disney stuff, but I am interested in seeing Scooter. And David Rudman (mountain climbing buddy hehe that's great!) is a nice choice.

Rudman is a nice choice, but would that mean Rudman would have to cut back on his Street work?

Nice blog, heralde, very well written!

And about the gym and the bicep: well, you remember that one magazine article that had Richard describing how he'd go shoot left-handed baskets after a day on the set. Plus, there's what we said about Del needing a good bit of upper arm strength to pick Zack up like that.

About the Disney stuff: being over the age of 16, I've never heard of three-fourths of those kids. But if the powers that be are going to give a more even ratio of Muppets to teen idols, I'll be happier.

If you have younger relatives, they've most likely heard of said Teens.
