I have no Idea why It took me so long to post in this thread. Richard was one of the funniest people I'll ever hear about. I love his characters such as Forgetful Jones, Scooter, Junior Gorg, and Janice. Something funny that connects me and him, is we both used Your Face as a comeback. The funny thing about it is, when I first started using it, I didn't even know Richard did.

P.S. Welcome back Muppet Newsgirl

2. Fav Hunt skit (from any show)
3. Fav Hunt moment (from any scene)

1. Thats a toughie, But if I had to choose, I'd say Scooter
2. Six String Orcestra
3. Hearing Janice's random talkings about living on the beach and walking around naked in TGMC

While I was in the city on Wednesday, I wandered over to west 52 and checked out the Paley Center for Media - or more precisely, some of the center's Muppet-related items. I took in "The Muppets Go to the Movies" and the "Puppetman" pilot - good stuff, very good stuff.
OK...um...I'm not even kidding...wow...just the other day this week I was thinking (again not kidding): "I wish someone else on the RHLC thread could see the Puppetman pilot so I would have someone else to talk about it!"

Um, thank you! Yay! :: points in heavenly choir direction!::

I'd love to hear your observations! And I hope the interview went well btw!

And Muppets Go to the Movies is one of my favorites of all time!

And good answers, Colbynfriends!

Ok... :: pants:: a little too excited maybe. That puppy's crazy energy is rubbing off!

Your wish is my command, heralde! I had a few minutes left on my allotted viewing time after I took in "Muppets Go to the Movies," so I went back downstairs to the library and punched in "Puppetman." So here's the stuff that I wanted to comment on.

I noticed that after Richard - that, is, Del - gave Zack a peck on the cheek and lifted him up onto the table, for most of the rest of that scene he sat right by Zack, as if he was guarding him. Which he pretty much was. You how Bud, thinking that Zack was the son of the station manager, slipped him a $10 - but when he realized that Zack was Gary's kid, he tried to take the bill back. So while the dialogue is going on, Bud's trying to take back the money, and then Del puts his hand on Bud's arm and pushes it away.

You might have caught this, but during that same scene, I noticed that while the manager was giving the doom-and-gloom speech, Holly was standing behind Del and giving him a shoulder rub.

Rita's certainly the prima donna - and you're right; that is a rather racy-looking getup she's wearing in the latter half of the show. Gertha used the word "tramp" to describe Rita's appearance, but the word that popped into my mind was "floozy." And during "You Are My Sunshine," there's Rita with Gertha, looking all cheery for the camera, and down behind the set, there's Del, who was probably wondering for the millionth time how he got dragged into doing that number. At one point, it seems he looked at the camera as if to beg the viewers to help him.

Other stuff...it was the junior Bud (the oh-so-hip dude) who told Del to "break an arm!" And the "we are not amused" look that Del shot him was priceless. In terms of on- and off-set relationships: Del is good pals with Gary and Holly, adores Zack, barely tolerates Bud Sr., could probably do without Bud Jr. and can't stand to be in the same room with Rita.

No truly, your command is my wish! Seriously, I still can't believe it. Never let it be said your prayers are never answered. I guess Richard felt it was up to him again to create conversation.

I remember going to the Paley Center (back when it was The Museum of TV and Radio hehe) and just thinking one day "This is great! But I bet they don't have..." And they did!

I know what you mean, my impression was always that Richard might have realized the kid would bee largely ignored in the scene if he didn't take action, hehe. I remember when Bud failed to get the $10 back and Richard/Del kinda goes "Heh heh heh."

And at the end of the scene as Gary and Zack are leaving, Bud makes one final attempt to get the $10 back and Del gives him a look kinda of like, "You're STILL doing this?" lol

I have to love the beginning of the scene though when Del and Earl the dragon are trying to get the mechanical bug ("Get him! Ha! Get him!") and then when he says good morning to Holly, lol. I do think they meant for Del to be sort of a parody of how Richard was in real life, lol.

And umm...oh yeah there was when the head of the network and Bud are discussing the cross dressing beauty pageant contest and Del's in the background contemplating how this is possible, lol. (Don't feel bad if you didn't see, this is after a couple viewings!)

And what did you notice about Muppets go to the Movies?

And you're welcome, Colbyn!

So it seems as if Richard was always--and still is--one of the gang (i.e. he's a Muppeteer, but he also is among the fans of said Muppeteers, too).
