Right on - and now I'm watching the mail with a little more trepidation than usual.

Here's my two cents' worth again: having seen more footage of Jane, it's clear that Jane passed on a lot of her personality to her son, but in the looks department I still think Richard took after his father. Of course, to be certain we'd have to see photos of both parents, but like I said, that's just my two cents' worth.

"Please, Mr. Postman, look and see. Is there a letter, a letter for me? !"

Oh definitely, it's one of those moments when parent and child are so surprisingly alike in manner and speech and body language and all. My Mom and I still get called on that, lol.

You guys might have read that I finally got my new pet yesterday! Yup, I've got a bouncy little puppy of my own, who is quite literally bouncing off of walls, and could be aptly called "exuberance gone mad."

I had to wait at the airport real late at night, but he finally arrived. I thought he'd be shell shocked, but as soon as he came home and found his new toy, he was in Heaven. He's definitely a ruff and ready little boy, he tried ramming his little body into the barrier near the steps...and promptly bounced right off, shaking his head as he got up. Lol

He's sleeping now, he gets tired after awhile as you can imagine. I'm just so surpised and pleased at how affectionate he already is. He falls asleep in my lap, so I guess he feels safe with me and that's a great feeling.

That's cool, heralde - what kind of puppy did you get? And your description reminds me of a certain other "bouncy little puppy" that Jerry Nelson referred to in an interview...and ya know, I just had a mental image of Jerry as a large, gray Old English Sheepdog, reclining somewhere and trying to catch a few Zs, and Richard as a puppy (probably a spaniel or similar breed) racing around and wanting to play. "Go away kid, yer botherin' me."

As for personality and genetics, it's the same with me; I take after my dad in terms of physical appearance, but I get everything else from Mom: personality, mannerisms, quick wit and constantly-fretting-type-A perfectionist streak.

People tell me I'm just like my mom all the time but my mom tell me I am just like my dad. I don't see the resemblance with me or my mom at all, every body else I know does. *shrug* :smirk:

He's an English Cocker Spaniel actually hehe, black and white with black freckles all over. And yes that's very much how I pictured that too!

Well my Mom probably thinks I'm like my Dad and Dad thinks I'm like Mom, lol.

I think most parents think their children are most like the other parent, especially when said child does something wrong. XD

Awww, he sounds so cute, heralde! If I had a pet like that and who was so adorably crazy, I don't think I'd ever sleep, hehe, I'd just want to be playing with him all the time!

That was my first thought as I was watching Steve's trailer, too. I felt that Richard got a lot of Jane's great traits, also.

For me, I think I definitely take more after my dad in the looks department. But in the personality department, I have things in common with both of my parents. The main things I got from my mom are my artistic side (in dance, in both vocal and instrumental music, and in acting), my idealistic nature, how excited I can get sometimes, and my weird ways of organizing things, lol. And from my dad, I got his sense of humor, his style of common sense (of course my mom has common sense too, I just see certain things a little bit more like my dad), his temper, his sensitivity, very similar ways of looking for peace and relaxation when things get hectic, among other things. Pretty different traits from both of them, but all of the traits are very strong in me.

Same here. I have all those things too, along with my dad's stubborn-ness, sadly.

Oh yes! That's one thing I forgot, my dad oh so kindly gave me his stubborn-ness, too, lol. But that's okay... you can turn stubborn-ness into a good thing if you're determined, persistent, and never give up on things that are important to you.
