My best wishes and prayers go out to you dear Sara.
Ahh, well it could be that your prof and I have a difference of opinion of what "innocence" means. It's like the difference between childlike and childish. Childish means you're immature and not growing and taking responsibility in life. Childlike means you do learn and grow but still retain a certain joy in life and appreciate simple things.Oh, it's nothing, really - it's just that my prof doesn't terribly care for children's books and shows that portray childhood innocence as something to be cherished; she prefers the books where the kids are empowered and able to grow. I agree with her on some counts, I suppose - but then again, this same prof dislikes the Harry Potter books, which I adore. Just my two cents' worth.
Lol, nay it's great and useful to learn these things, it's the last time you'll really hae the opportunity (and time!). It's just that these issues are always so complex!Hmm...yes, that probably is the case. And there were a whole slew of cultural implications we discussed in the books, and all that stuff. It's probably proof that I've spent way too much time in a university classroom, but there ya go.
I think what it also shows is, it's not about wondering why bad things happen in the world. It's about wondering, what can I do to fix it?Let's just say that it proves that not all guardian angels have halos and wings...
