Yeah, a cuddly puppy would be nice, but toy lambs are cleaner!
I've just gotta say that Ernie's song Imagine That is on MCR, and Richard as one of the sailors shouting and laughing caught my attention.

You know something Erin? I was thinking the same thing about Richard seeing the kid as needing a little something extra!

*Huh? Dog you say heralde?
*In Statler voice: Baad, baad!
*Sheep: Woool, woool!
*Statler again: Humbug, humbug!
*Laugh.

Keep your fluffy friend, it's a better pet than any you'll ever find.
*Dives in to retrieve own plush pets from Lisa's too many teddy bears bulging bin.

And I'm dropping in here, too...I'm in need of a little RHLC therapy; I'm just physically and emotionally exhausted today.
Aw, I know how you feel. I've been putting in a lot of late hours recently. It's really tough on your system. ::collapses...but still..somehow...bravely...finds time to post in RHLC lol::

It's interesting; there are at least a hundred names in the credits of the Muppet movies, and of all of them, Richard's name is the one that catches the kid's eye:

Richard: (waving hands) Ooh, pick me, pick me!

And as we know, it's also very appropriate, seeing how much Richard adored children. Even though he is physically no longer with us, Richard is still capable of reaching out to people. Wonder if he recognized that the kid was perhaps in need of a little extra attention?
Sort of reminds me of when I first read that Sesame Street Unpaved books years ago. By that time I knew who most of the Muppeteers were and recognized their names. But Richard was one of the exceptions. He doesn't really appear a lot in the book for instance so I didn't have a clear idea of who he was. However, he does get talked about a bit. Kevin Clash say Richard didn't like Elmo because something like, "his characters were very loud and crazy, very specific...Elmo just didn't fit in with his repetoire." I remember that kinda intriguing me in particular even though that's all I had to go on. And again, that was years before the MC was even created!

But anyway, I wish we could let that author know just how incredible his story really is, he probably doesn't know about the deeper meaning there. Well, all kids need encouragment, but Autistic kids I think do especially need to know they're special and important, despite the challenges they face.

Wow, suddenly so many posts! Good thing we have the new trusty multi quote option!

Oh yeah I remember that song, so nice, classic Ernie. I also like Chris Cerf's part, he has such a unique voice.

Thanks for the support! But I still really want to have a pet again.

Hmm...

Has anyone been to a Hallmark store lately? It's freezing cold outside and then you walk in, and all the Easter cards say "Spring is here!" Flowers, sunshine and baby chicks! (not to mention Cadburry creme eggs!) Lol

It's completely inappropriate, lol. But on the other, perhaps it's just we need during these freezing months. Hope is rekindled, isn't that was Easter is all about?

You know MBM? It's funny how Richard has the ability to to stand out from all the other Puppeteers. It's like he can sneak in there and still the show with really trying to. He's just himself so it really makes sense that he the kid with autism recognized him! I bet any kid would be able to point out Richard from the group like that.

Aw, I think it sweet that you got a little lamb for easter, heralde! I bet he cute. It reminds me when Alister Cookie had a little toy lamb and begin to rub and pet it. It was cookie showing his softer side in contras to his crazier side.

Yeah, Richard is one of those people where even if you don't exactly know who he is, you always have been aware of his presence with the Muppet in the back of your mind, somewhere.

That is so funny and kind of COLD at the same time, ha! But it warms you up on the inside witch is also very important. I love how spring is about life and staring anew after the dead months of winter. So I love hoe easter and spring go together like that. It's just an amazing time of year, really!:excited:
