Wow, all night? I like left my iPod in the car for like twenty minutes and it came back with the screen all furry.

So...has anyone besides heralde sent things to Amanda? Did she mention a day we should have them in by?

(P.S. Oh no, Beverly Sills :embarrassed: )

Yeah I know, I was so surprised it was alright! Basically, I had a bag of food and I slipped the iPod in for safe keeping. I tried to remember to take it out but it totally left my mind!

I think Sara said she'd sent something, but I'm not positive.

I like your new avatar, Sara!

No phone or ipod stories because I don't have either one, hehe! But I have left my wallet and keys in the washing machine machine before, and my mom found my glasses in the silverware drawer before. Heh! Don't know how that one happened. I've actually been missing my glasses and keys for a really long time now.:stick_out_tongue: Oh yeah, both of my grandparents passed a long time ago.

So cool that you heard from Amanda, Erin!

Yay, my copy of Quilting with the Muppets finally arrived! I actually ordered it a couple months ago from Amazon, but it seemed to be out of stock and the order was pushed back. I finally decided to try using a third party and it arrived today. Thanks again, MN, for recommending it!

I'm really glad to be able to see Richard's AIDS quilt up close, the one that the workshop people created. They are a very skilled and talented bunch who clearly love Richard a lot.

Some of my favorite parts:

"Forgetful Jones...brought out more of the simple, sweet side of Richard, in the midst of some of his other more outrageous characters."

(I totally agree with that, btw! One of the sweetest moments in the DVD Playalong Games and Songs is between Forgetful Jones and Elmo (yes that Elmo) as the little red monster offers him comfort.)

"Belmont was a Muppet character...for...The Christmas Toy. Richard Hunt was the brilliant puppeteer who performed this dopey, yet ultimately heroic, character."

(I'm glad to finally hear someone complimenting The Christmas Toy, one of the more underrated Muppet specials. Yeah Belmont was pretty heroic, because he got over his fears into order to save a friend.)

"Richard was always poking fun at me and I would invariably return the favor visually...We both shared the belief that good natured teasing was an act of love - we teased each other a lot!"

(At first glance, I didn't think the caricature panel looked much like him. But when I think about it, lol, it does kinda resemble him, partiulcarly around the eyes. And I like how it's a puppet, lol.)

"My colors for this block were intentional. I chose yellow for the star because of the star that Richard was, he was constantly in motion. He was full of happiness, fun, playfulness, and he had a truly gregarious spirit. For his name, I chose red because it represents fire, blood, and passion, everything that Richard stood for. I picked corduroy as my medium because will all that Richard posssessed, he was down to earth and knew the meaning of friendship."

(Well, I think that pretty much says it all. )

Glad to hear that, heralde! I think it's very safe to say that the section on Richard's quilt is one of the best in the book. It's a lot of fun to just go over the details on each of the patches.

Mom ordered a copy from Amazon some time ago, but it STILL hasn't come in, so we're having the same problems you did. However, I went to the library while I was out running errands on Thursday and checked a copy out. It's been out of the library forever (at least it seems that way) so I was pleased to finally get my hands on it.

The intro, like I said some time ago, commented that one of the most poignant parts was that Richard would never see the quilt. Personally, I think he has.

Aw, hehe, well I'm glad you got to see it before and if that happens.

"That's magical, but that guy's nuts!"

I wonder if that's what the interviewer was also thinking! Hehe
