I’ve done two stints of working phones like that. Both were extremely short-lived. It is so much easier to deal with people face to face, as opposed to a voice on a phone hundreds of miles away.
Sometimes you can’t resolve conflicts on the phone, and it’s no fun having someone ripping you a new one. I never took it personally.
When you’re serving people in front of you, it’s so much easier to take a bad situation and make it better.
