I remember way back when always having to make special trips out west to Sam Goody and later Best Buy when Sam Goody went out of business for new DVD releases, because it's like Walmart (and to a lesser extent Target) was always months late with new releases. The only other alternative was fye, but they always jacked up their prices: what may usually have been anywhere from $29 to $39 in other stores would be $50 or more at fye.

FYE has always been a pretty pricey store, but I mean, I enjoy shopping there so 🤷🏿‍♂️

The atmosphere was great, and even so, they often would have really rare titles (either used, pre-owned, or in very good condition) that you really couldn't find anywhere else (aside from eBay of course) - I remember among some of the rare treasures I found there were a copy of SS's 20th anniversary special (the one Jim produced as an episode of JHH) and the SUPER MARIO BROS. movie from the 90s. Still, if you wanted to buy anything from them, it was best to wait until stuff was on sale, because their sale prices were usually what other stores' retail prices were.

So the ***** at the DMV wanted to humiliate me for mistaking putting today's date on my birth certificate. I got confused on what she told me. I swear this is why I hate the DMV at times. These workers are unprofessional. 😠

Same here. A few years back I was there to get my car inspected. The clerk mumbled to me like he had marbles in his mouth. Then he started screaming at me like a banshee.
DMV employees seem like the most miserable people on earth. The people at the post office don’t seem so bad.

Ten years ago, our county opened a brand new modern DMV. Still runs painfully slow, and the employees want to be there as much as I do.

Every time I need to go there, it always takes a couple hours, no matter what.
But after, I always treat myself to ice cream.

The times I dealt with Financial Aid (although I never qualified), at least they treated me like a human being.
I’ve worked retail, worked in restaurants, dealt with the public a lot. As hard as it is sometimes, you have to put on a brave face.
Customers can dump on you, but you can’t dump on them. I know it’s hard, and it’s not always fair. But when you treat people right, it will come back to you.
That still doesn’t give them the right to have a bad day and take it out on you.
But actually, after years of dealing with John Q. Public, the number of really bad customers I can count on one hand.
Good customer service means sales. Sales means more money. Cashee Smashee.

Yeah, my mom worked for call-in centers before . . . she dealt with some really rude people who would outright question her mental capacity, despite telling the customers that they had just simply reached the call-in center, not the warehouse, or the main corporate headquarters, just the call-in center, all she could do was take and place orders.
