Nayver mind. I guess the coat hanger did more help than I thought, because after a couple of days of blindly fishing around, I saw she had been pulled further up the duct enough that I could keep pulling her out, so she's back on the shelf.I ended up bumping into a shelf on my wall where I have some collectibles - one of my Chipette figures fell off and right down the vent. She's too far down the air duct for me to reach by hand, wire coat hanger can't get her, and my vacuum doesn't have a hose for me to suck her out; it'd cost more to get a hose or have professionals suck her out than it would to be just order a replacement from Toys R Us (which is presently under $3.00 online).
And interestingly enough, I also ended up fishing out an old ink pen . . . wonder how long that had been down there? Not only was the outside covered in dust, but the ink inside the inner tub was completely dried out, lol. Not even a pen I would use, so it must have been down there for years, lol.
