It's because when I do major events (Like Radiothon or Leather Ball) women want to kiss him, and they get lipstick and base make up all over him. It would also make for quicker costume changes. Besides that, 3 of the Muleys will be Mulewood Blues, Count DracMula, and a Poser Muley.

Yeh, Like There's Alot Of Muppet Fans That like to build The Most Possible Likeness of one of there favorite Muppets for Themselfs, to you know play with or fool around with. Like I built a Scooter Puppet (Got to find it though and Build his arms.) to see That I could get another job for being A Muppet Builder. But I Think Trying To Sell It Is Just Plain Wrong.

Talking of rubber chickens, there used to be a shop in Sydney that sold the proper good quality rubber chickens and also ducks and pigs too, they were about $20AUD. They also sell them at a local cheap shop but I think they are intended for pets, they are about $2AUD and they are made out of plastic rather than rubber.

plastic instead of rubber?? Plastic is so cheap, exemplified by those price comparisons above!

For me, it's RUBBER CHICKEN OR BUST!!

The thing is, if people love to build Muppets and do their favourite character's voices that's all well and good (provided that it's not for profit), but if you're really serious about being a puppeteer or builder for the Muppets - or anyone else - you should try to be as talented as possible. I'm sure they want original creative people.

I was speaking to a puppeteer awhile ago who met Jim Henson at a few conventions years ago and he said he was surprised by the fact that Jim ignored anything that looked like the Muppets but was fascinated by different and original types of puppetry. I think he was more interested in pushing the artform forward than he was in seeing people copy him.

Interesting. Actally I do build my Own Origanal Puppets for my Puppet group "The Erods". And I sometimes build some Muppets For Myself to see if I can make The most realistic version of them. And I can sometimes learn some tricks about puppet building. When I perform, I'll Never Use Muppets because that's Jim Henson's Creations not mine and I like doing my own stuff to.
I remember asking Jane (Nebel) Henson that I work like to work for The Jim Henson Company And The Muppets, And She told me to make my own puppets, and I guess I got even fouther in puppet building then I thought, I don't really make the most perfestional puppet, But I do build Hand & Rod puppets (Not because of anything with The Muppets) Because I do agree with Jim Henson that It looks alot better for a puppet that I can look at the audeance like If It was a Real Person, And That's One thing that I love about puppets & puppetry, you can make a puppet not look like a human, but acted like one. :)

BTW, my post wasn't really directed at you personally, just in general. You're absolutely right though.

What would the world be like without rubber chickens? A boring place!

I've decided to re-list my old puppets on Ebay. I've decided the fact that i'm not passing them off as originals and the fact that there is plenty of other "homemade" muppet stuff on ebay i'm not doing anything wrong. I'm only selling them to give another muppet fan the chance to play with a muppet puppet and i dont think there is anything wrong with that. I'm about to start making my own design puppets and selling them on Ebay and on my own website... also going to make a few Kermits and give them to a few people who have written to me asking for a kermit because they do hospital work for children etc. Everyone loves the muppets! Steve, dave and Caroll have all seen pics of my puppets and they liked them so i hope you all like them too. ok

lol, I don't know why you pulled them to begin with. It's just an oppinion of some people that it's not "right". But your an adult..... you do what you want. I still think it's nice work and don't think any less of you. ;)
