of Henson.com The Muppets have hit a home run, as The Jim Henson Company announced today an exclusive merchandise partnership with the Los Angeles Dodgers and MLB Properties for the 2003 baseball season. Limited edition bobbleheads and plush dolls from marquee Muppet characters including Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy will be available at Dodger Stadium for the remainder of the season. “We are thrilled to be affiliated with one of the most acclaimed baseball teams in the world,” said Michael R. Polis, Senior Vice President of Marketing Worldwide for The Jim Henson Company. “Kermit green and Dodger blue promises to be a grand slam promotion!” Muppet bobbleheads will be dressed in full player uniforms including Kermit the Frog as catcher and Miss Piggy as pitcher. In addition, Muppet plush dressed as ultimate Dodger fans will be available, with Kermit sporting a Dodger t-shirt and Miss Piggy wearing a pink Dodger cheerleader ensemble. In addition, young
Dodger fans will also delight in a plush version of the loveable BearÔ,
star of the Emmy Award-winning preschool series, Jim Henson’s Bear
in the Big Blue HouseÔ. The plush Bear shows his team spirit by
wearing a Dodger t-shirt and cap. The Bear Dodger plush will also be available
exclusively at Dodger Stadium through September 2003. |
