Thirty minutes cut from the Muppet Christmas TV movie Courtesy
of Henson.com The Jim Henson Company today announced that, because of production reasons, about half an hour of footage originally planned for use in its first-ever made-for-television Muppet movie, 'It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie' including a brief cameo appearance by Snoop Dogg will not be appearing in the final cut. As previously announced, the movie is to be telecast this December on NBC. The Company said: "We at The Jim Henson Company are tremendously excited about this upcoming NBC primetime television event and are hard at work creating a film with universal appeal for Muppet fans of all ages. A wide variety of guest stars are involved in the movie including David Arquette, Whoopi Goldberg, Matthew Lillard and William H. Macy."
"As commonly occurs during this stage of production, we have had to cut several scenes originally planned for the movie which did not advance its storyline. Unfortunately, one of the scenes we have had to cut was a brief appearance by the talented artist Snoop Dogg. We are very proud of this TV movie and are confident that it will be a highlight of the holiday season."
