New Muppet CD gets renamed and a cover By
Phillip Chapman Three weeks ago the full track list of the Muppets new CD on Rhino Records was announced. The CD now has a new name as the disc has officially entered production with a release to stores next month on September 17, 2002. The hip working title "The Muppets 25th Anniversary Celebration: Who Let the Frogs Out" has been updated to the more classy "The Muppet Show: Music, Mayhem and More, The 25th Anniversary Collection". The CD cover features a nice promotional photo of Kermit, Fozzie, Miss Piggy, Gonzo and Animal that debuted three years ago. While the photo is fine, it would've been nice to have seen some classic images from the Muppet Show heyday on the cover. Hopefully these are included in the liner notes and on the back cover. The 27-song track list for the CD is the same as was announced in July with fourteen tracks from "The Muppet Show" and thirteen tracks from the Muppets six feature films. The anniversary CD collection will be released nationwide and sold on-line. It was listed on Amazon.com today with a pre-order price of $17.98. |
