Midway finalizes Muppet Monster Adventure

Midway Games Inc., a leading software industry publisher and developer and Jim Henson Interactive (JHI), the interactive division of The Jim Henson Company, today announced that Muppet Monster Adventure for the PlayStation® game console will be available in retail outlets this October.

Midway and JHI are stirring up a cauldron of scary surprises for Halloween in Muppet Monster Adventure. Players must prepare themselves for a spooky and mystical trip through a monster-ridden fairyland. This exciting new platform game takes mass-market gamers on a magical journey through a breathtaking fantasyland, filled with their favorite Muppet characters. "Muppet Monster Adventure combines the great humor and action-oriented gameplay that kids expect from Muppet titles," said Craig Allen, JHI's general manager. "We are very proud of this title as it is not only the Muppets' very first 3D action platform game, but also the first time we've used a video game to introduce a brand new set of characters into the Muppet family. In fact, JHI is so excited about these new Monster Muppets that there's already talk about bringing them into other media as potentially a separate franchise - so I think we're really just the start of something, well, monstrous!"

Topping the bill in this scary story is Robin, Kermit the Frog's nephew. This unlikely hero needs help as he embarks on a mighty quest to save his uncle and the other Muppets, who have been transformed into monstrous versions of their former selves! As players explore the vast worlds, they'll find special powers to transform into a gliding vampire bat, a climbing werewolf and other weird and wonderful creatures.

Developed by Magenta, Muppet Monster Adventure features a hauntingly original soundtrack recorded live and written by the award-winning composer Michael Giacchino. The game also includes all the original Muppet character voices.
