Four Fish Fly Free comes to the Web By
Phillip Chapman The exciting new childrens series "Four Fish Fly Free" has been available on video since last November. However, now they have a new official Web site at www.4fishkids.com. You can not only buy the musical videos on-line, but also T-shirts, hats, and ball caps as well. The new Web site has sections devoted to teaching information for "Parents and Teachers" and also information on how you can join the "Free Fin Club". Character biographies and show descriptions are included. "Four Fish Fly Free" is a series aimed at teaching that everyone has great fun while learning about music and many of life's lessons. The show is a fantasy under the sea at Atlantis Elementary School with a cast of fun-loving fishkids and up-beat educators. According to performer Terry Angus, "There are very few shows out there that are educating music and the ones that do teach music are not really teaching about music in all its form. There is more to music than going "La la la". For example... What is a pitch map? What is an A-B-A form? For that matter, what is a form? So we go further with music on this show. The videos are not only fun, they have a plot to them and other kinds of lessons." Chuck and Mary Lynn McMichael created the world of Four Fish Fly Free. They asked Joey Embers to design the look of the fishkids and former Muppeteer, Terry Angus (Fraggle Rock, Muppet Family Christmas, The Fantastic Miss Piggy Show) to build the fishkids on this show and act as puppet master. Terry is also the performer of Neon, one of the fishkids who loves to tell minnow jokes and make everyone laugh. "Music is enlightening!" comments Angus. "Most people dont know or understand a lot of the aspects of music and with this video they can be shown music in a fun way! Also, it helps in other areas too. Studies have shown that kids who study music consistently do better in mathematics and other academic subjects. And it is all shown in a fun way." |
