Applause cancels Muppet license By
Phillip Chapman While there have been rumors for a month, it's now official and been confirmed, the famous toy company Applause will no longer be making Muppet products featuring classic characters like Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Animal. A representative from Applause confirmed that "Our Muppet line (Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Animal) is about to conclude. As soon as our merchandise is sold out from our warehouse we have no plans to continue with the line." After contacting multiple Applause retailers, many of them are already out of stock of most Applause Muppet products, including Walt Disney World in Florida. "Our license with Bear in the Big Blue House just started so there are no immediate plans to drop that and Sesame Street to our knowledge will continue to be produced." Even though the Applause Muppet license only featured Kermit, Miss Piggy, and Animal, the products produced of those characters were very good.
