The Muppet Movie to be re-released on video

Jim Henson Home Entertainment is planning on re-releasing "The Muppet Movie" on VHS next summer. It has not yet been confirmed, but hopefully a DVD version will be released as well.

Sources from the Henson Company say that the soundtrack will be re-released on CD and cassette to coincide with the video release. It is likely that other Muppet CD's may be released at the same time next summer.

Last May, Kenneth Plume reported that JHC was discussing a deal with Disney Records to release four CD's and cassettes during the 4th quarter of 1998, however, those CD's were never released.

The Muppet Movie was originally released in theaters twenty years ago in 1979. Hopefully, there will be other events surrounding this important milestone in JHC history.
