Filming for "Muppets From Space" delayed By
Brian Knatchbull I was able to talk to a friend tonight who works for The Hollywood Reporter in the Film and Television Production division. This is what he told me in regards to "Muppets From Space." All information they receive is from both production companies involved. The latest project update from Columbia and Jim Henson Pictures to The Hollywood Reporter was on October 14, 1998. "Muppets From Space" was originally scheduled to start shooting on October 26, 1998 but that has since changed. It will now begin filming on November 9, 1998. It was pushed back a couple weeks from its original scheduled start. Another interesting albeit confusing tidbit is that a film "Muppets In Space" has also been registered as recently as October 2, 1998. On this date Martin G. Baker and Brian Henson were committed as Producers and Kirk R. Thatcher was committed as the writer. "Muppets From Space", "Muppets In Space", this is what has gotten a lot confused with the two projects with similar titles. "Muppets From Space" which is scheduled to start shooting on November 9 was the film originally written by Jerry Juhl before he left over creative differences. Who knows what they are planning to do with the version written by Kirk Thatcher. I guess we will have to wait and see if this Muppet space story ever sees the light of day.
