You really don't like Elmo do you?

No, I like Elmo, but I neither hate, nor love him. It's just that like a lot of people, I feel that things around the street have been TOO Elmo-oriented for quite some time, and would like to see some more of the other characters who used to graces the streets on a regular basis, like Big Bird.

Another "stereotype" skit I know was from maybe the 1970s or 1980s, where it has a modern-day Native American boy telling two kids playing a game of Cowboys and Indians that "Indians don't talk like that!"

Yea i see your point and it's a real good one i have always thought that Big Bird was a more richer caricture then elmo because he has a wide range of emotions. Elmo is all about Elmo if you know what i mean.

Right, that's the argument. Elmo's a little one dimensional compared to the other characters. And I know the show is geared toward a younger audience, but younger kids aren't dumb, they're just younger, heh. (Not that Elmo is dumb, as a character's he's great. It's the oversaturation that bothers me.)

Storyline:
Today's episode was pretty good. I enjoyed. I love the story book ones just because it's reminds me of the older story book ones back in the 70's.

Some of the songs were cool to hear. Was the Zoe, Telly and Prairie new or old? It looked kind of old just because of Zoe not having her tutu.

But i really enjoyed this episode really well.

He actually does. Watch Elmo in Grouchland. He actually has more emotions if there's a story around him, and he's just not there to attract 3 year old viewers.


That's why I'm taking a liking to Zoe and Rocko.

There's a recent Frank Oz interview posted in the Henson People section. He's asked about the current state of Sesame Street. Heh, not everyone will agree with what he says. But personally, I'm really glad he said it. And I didn't know he'd given a Masters class on the subject of kid's education and TV. I would love to have taken that class, lol.
