Well, some of the words they are teaching with the word of the day have been simple. Come on. What kid -doesn't know what a dog is? I feel it would be great if more of these "Word of the day" skits had print on did a great job in that episode, when Baby bear and Telly dressed up as the word Dog, and thw word Dog had been in plain veiew a lot.

I would say pretty much the same things as far as the street segment, which is about all I saw. But, I will say this - the continuity was great, but this would have been the perfect place for a throwaway line with Gina saying, "Well, Elmo, I'm still his Mommy, so while Gordon's wife Susan babysits him, I still like to spend lots of time with him, too."
Um, There's a problem with this. Susan has to go to work during the daytime, too! So the best possible answer would be to hire a sitter.

Touché! It's hard to believe that Gina (who's got a steady clientele and adopted a foreign baby by flying abroad in person) can't afford a sitter. Single moms would never leave a kid Marco's age alone at home in real life, or bring them along to a potentially dangerous workplace. Maybe they should use that idea next season; an episode or two about babysitters is perfect for Sesame Street's target age.

I love all the newer episodes. I liked both of the ones so far that everyone has talked about. I had heard that the "Big Bear Hug" song was on the Play With Me Sesame (which i heard from a former member) who saw it on Sprout. So had never heard of this song before. But i guess since i didn't watch any of the shows through out the 90's expect for the older episodes in the early ones. But cool to see something new that i hadn't seen. So it was new for me. But can't wait for the other ones to fallow.

Wow, I didn't know the hug song was old; thanks for filling me in! Today's episode gave me an idea for finishing my "Elmo's World: Hugging" fanfic, though...

It has been a while since I watched - what does Susan do for a living?

Yes, an episode about sitters would be very good. They did mention some sort of nursery rhyme daycare, I thought I read; but if SW is all about diversity, then to only mention that is ridiculous. There are viewers who would be with sitters, too, with home daycares, with nannies (which gina might be able to afford , and some still with their parents. Though a nanny sounds like something for rich people, I've heard just regular sitters referred to as nannies, though usually that's more for someone who doesn't have other charges where I'm from.

Well... Susan works as an RN, registered nurse.
Nursery rhyme day care? Never heard that one before.
Sitters can be called either nannies or o'pares, regardless of how much money you yourself make. What's the difference between nannies and o'pares? About two hundred dollars.
*Old joke.

I vaguely remember that now, but I think since I've started having some time to watch again, I've seen Susan or heard her referred to twice, in the ones I've caught - over a number of years.

I might be thinking of the Kindergarten Baby Bear went to last year, witht he day care one...but it doesn't matter, really.

Or an older joke - they could always say Marco is being watched by a Nanny goat.

Yeah, Susan babysitting might be the most logical explanation, unless she's still working as a nurse at the hospital. I guess it's been quite a few seasons since that has been referenced.

Well under the BIOS on the Sesame workshop site it says she's a working mother. But remember when Chris first showed up, because her and Gordon we're both going to work.

Baby Bare used to go to Day care. Oddly enough, Gina was running it back then. But he's in Kindergarten now as has already been stated.

I'm just saying. But I do see what you're saying about her probably being able to afford a sitter, but she did really plan ahead for the adoption. I mean it's not like she just packed up and left or something. I was thinking that maybe Gaby or miles could watch after her, but Gaby is in school and probably Miles, too. But I was thinking. What did Gordon and Susan or Luis and Maria do when Miles was adopted or when Gaby was born sense they both have working parents? Did Gaby ever go to day care when Lilian was running a day care on the street? Because I think I remember seeing her there at least ones before but I'm not sure about that.
