Oh, here's something I was wondering. I have seen two Bert and Ernie skits this week that seem pretty recent. One was when :stick_out_tongue: was irritating :frown: by singing a wake up song. The other was when :stick_out_tongue: was pretending to be :frown:'s pigeon Bernice. In both those sketches it sounded like Steve's Ernie and Frank's Bert. Could someone give me more info on exactly how old those sketches are?

My thoughts on Episode 4080 before I leave to watch Episode 4081.

Pros.
1 Patty Labelle sings the Alphabet, though there's a minus point awarded here cause they edited out the appearance of Chris from Chris and the Alphabeats.
2 It was rully good to see the song "There's a Bird on Me" again, though I don't know what happened in this digitally updated animated version.
3 Number of the Day: 2 was brand new. The Count was getting ready to go to bed and counting sheep. 2 Tapdancing Sheep, and one elephant in sheep's clothing danced to help him shuffle off to slumberland.
4Spanish Word of the Day: Musica/Music was OK.
5 Elmo's World: Up & Down was new, and it had a few good points. During the part where Elmo goes inside his drawer to find out what goes up and down, they said that an elephant can't go up and down. And then their generic elephant character showed up and said "Unless it's me, cause I'm the Elephant Elevator Operator."
Nice reference.
And I liked the voice of the person who voiced the Yoyo at the end of the episode.

Cons.
1 The Story segment wasn't that great, just another fairy person story. Though there was a good reference. If Drtooth picked up on the Super Chicken cavalry call in 4071, then he'll have picked up on this one too. After Elmo gets turned into a bird, the Fairy Godperson gets a call for another wish.
"A moose from Minnesota wishes he could fly like a flying squirrel? A flying moose."
You know what that's a reference to, and I shouldn't have to point it out for you cartoon afficionados.
2 Letter of the Day: X was a repeat. Though it gets a plus point for the second Baby Talk segment where Natasha talks to the letter X, the star of the X-Files.
Well, I'll report after watching today's episode.
Hope this helps and have a good day.

My thoughts on Episode 4081.

Pros.
1 The story segment had two good points.
First off, they harkened to the old theme of diversity and inclusion with the song "The Music of the Street" when trying to convince Rosita that she should speak, even if her voice was different-sounding than everyone else's.
Secondly, in a bit that made me LOL and I'm sure it'll make Drtooth smile too, they did a spoof of however you want to call it: Pygmaleon or My Fair Lady, with a Muppet character named Henry Higgins who came to give Rosita speech lessons and ended up singing "The Pig is Big and does a Wiggly Jig" to the tune of "The Rain in Spain falls Mainly on the Plains".
2 It was nice to see both my namesake and the Martians during the song "The Music of the Street".
3 Classic animated bit/song "There is Only One Me".
4 Nora Jones' song "Don't Know Y Didn't Come". Enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
5 Seeing a sketch/song I greatly like "Hace Calor". This one's from the early 90's and rings especially true for those of us who speak Spanish and live in areas where we live with heated climates like here in PR.
6 Adventures of Trash Gordon and Global Grover were both new. Questions though.
a. What was it that the burro sculpted in clay?
b. How did Trash Gordon take care of the monster baby?

Cons.
1 Letter of the Day: Y and Number of the Day: 7 were repeated. Though you can't help from laughing when Cookie Monster eats his way out of the suitcase, eating the suitcase itself.
2 Sing What I Sing or Be My Echo sung by Ernie and Elmo. Just can't match the original with Grover and Madeline Kahn.
3 JTE: Perfect Shape was repeated.
Hope this helps and have a good day.

He actually was there... you couldn't tell, due to your unfortunate visual imparement... He was there only as a piano player, and didn't say a word. It was a tribute to the character to have him perform the piano, while Patti sang. His mouth also moved (during the part everybody sang) but you can tell Christopher Cerf didn't Voice over him. just wanted to help you clear that up. In short, he was seen and not heard....

I really liked that Trianglebob Trianglepants... not what I expected, but really funny, and Bob just really gets into the spirit dancing around in a stupid costume acting like a fool.... you can tell he really got into it... he was actually trying to catch his breath, if you listen carefully.

And the Baby Talk segment was great. I hope they continue this segment next year...

Wait, the dialogue between Patty and Chris is still there? Hmm, must've missed it. Will be alert to that when the episode gets repeated.
Oh, and Drtooth, did you see the parody of Pygmaleon or My Fair Lady today?

Actually, I noticed the same thing! Chris's voice WAS edited out this time, but it wasn't before. And I also noticed the newly added cartoon letters on the screen. And while singing, I understand that they did record Chris's voice, but they cut it out, because the executive producer at the time, Michael Loman, didn't like it.

Yup... I saw it seconds before I left. They even sang a "the rain in SSpain falls mainly on the Plain" parody... nice! I believe he said the play was PIG- maleon, emphisis on the P-I-G!

Oh, so they went for the same joke from the Roger Moore TMS episode eh?
Well, I mention it cause the name of the actual play is Pygmaleon, with a "y" after the capital "P".
The movie based on the play was named My Fair Lady, where the ending was changed.
Anyway, I'll have some more thoughts after watching the season finale on Monday, which I'm still holding out hope for the jackpot regarding the Number of the Day as first reported here before the season started.

Consider this: the kids who made fun of Rosita's voice were AMs, not real kids. Why do you think that is?
