How about a crazy comedy movie that blends The Muppet Movie with the original Blues Brothers, featuring Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem as the prominent characters rather than the "traditional" heroes of these Muppet romps.
Here's the premise:
Dr. Teeth, living a sanctified life in a monestary, has a startling revelation that has awaken him one night and breaking his code of silence in one, loud thought:
"I gotta put the band back together!"
After getting unceremonously booted from the monestary with only the clothes he came in with, an electric keyboard, and a notebook with a lot of his poems (hey, he needed something to do while he was there), Dr. Teeth flew back to the States in search of the remaining members of the Electric Mayhem. He begins his journey at the old Muppet Theater, where he talked to an old friend, Kermit, who told Doc where his van was located and gave him a few bucks to go on his way. He didn't know the old van needed repairs, but it has been seven years since he last rode it, and he needed some needed modifications. With the help of a pair of mechanics (Bobo and Sweetums), Dr. Teeth got back on the road to reunite the band.
His first stop was Chicago, where Floyd and Zoot began performing rock songs in a bar "frequented by a pair of singing brothers who wore suits back in the day." When Dr. Teeth asked them if they wanted to reunite Electric Mayhem, they both recalled "The Riot," an infamous concert which was the last one the group played together. Regardless, they joined Doc on their journey. Little did they know a quartet of government agents (Gonzo, Pepe, Sam the Eagle and a celebrity leader) were tailing Dr. Teeth out of fear of a possible resurrection of The Electric Mayhem after the "disruptive, anarchaic behavior" caused by their last known concert, and they wanted to stop them from doing so.
The second stop on the "Reunion Tour" was a juke joint in the deep south, where Beard and Rowlf were performing for a drunken crowd. Just as Beard and Rowlf were about to join the trio, the owner of the bar ordered them to perform one more song to pay off their tab (it seems Rowlf ordered a couple of rounds of root beer and didn't have enough funds for it), so, an impromptu concert featuring 5/7 of the Electric Mayhem began. It immediately got rowdy, but, as they say, music soothes the savage beast, and nearly everybody calmed down, although a couple of them recognized the green bearded guy from a wild concert from seven years ago.
Their next stop was a facility in Arizona where they heard Animal was "being examined." He was relatively cured and speaking quietly and acting very docile. So, the fellas took him back on the van until they saw a cutout of Janice on the walls of one of the scientists (which included a celebrity, Bunsen Honeydew, and Beaker). The celebrity scientist informed the fellas where her new group were performing at and recognized the Electric Mayhem from "The Riot" from seven years ago.
The final stop on the "Reunion Tour" was a California women's music festival, similar to The Lillith Tour, where Janice was one of the performers of a folk rock quartet. Dr. Teeth, Zoot, and Rowlf took the place of the other three female members and joined Janice on stage (introduced to the stage by the world-famous queen of all media Miss Piggy) while Beard and Floyd watched Animal on the van. They performed one of their classics despite Janice's reluctance to join them again, and the crowd asked for an encore. They performed seemlessly until one of the women in the audience saw Dr. Teeth's beard and shouted "Hey, that's a man! Get 'em off the stage." Animal saw numerous buxom beauties enter the fairgrounds and reverted back to his old manic self with one simple word:
WOMANNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!
Chaos once again ensued, and the agents realized that the band had once again been reunited, and they knew exactly where they were headed: New York City, the last place the band performed and the place where the so-called "Riot" took place. The Electric Mayhem began to click as if the past seven years and got a call from a world-famous music promoter to perform at The Garden for a reunion concert. After intercepting the call, a chase ensued across the interstate with the agents and the Electric Mayhem. After thwarting them, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem finally reached New York and their concert. Though the agents try one more attempt to stop them, the concert went on, and the crowd went wild.
And other things happen. Don't want to give away the whole story (though I did pretty much tell the biggest of it).
