Guys, I want to know what ad(s) on TV right now makes you mute the TV/change the channel/put your fingers in your ears and go "LA-LA-LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!11ONE1"

Personally, I hate the Progressive ads. They were NEVER funny/cute/entertaining in any way. Sadly, I have their insurance, but I made Statler and Waldorfesque comments at the end of them. :boo:

THANK YOU! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THAAAAAAAAANK YOU!

I can't STAND Flo! She's such a ditzy airhead, I don't really understand why there are people out there who actually have the hots for her... I absolutely hate that piggy bank commercial that they seem to play during Inside Edition just about everyday!

Those "ICECREAMANDCAKEDOTHEICECREAMANDCAKE! ICECREAMANDCAKEDOTHEICECREAMANDCAKE! ICECREAMANDCAKEDOTHEICECREAMANDCAKE!" Baskin-Robbins commercials were awful as well, but I'm happy to see they've changed those a bit in recent weeks to where there aren't nearly as annoying as they used to be.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... any awkward moment, or "this is how people talk" or "We watched 5 minutes of The Office! Look at how current we think we are" commercial drives me up the wall.

Like that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser commercial where the sponges are complaining about how good a job he does... one of them actually has to point out he did a bad sparkling sound. I can't describe it... but the whole "This is how real people really talk" thing lost its charm about 2007. And it wasn't even funny then.

I really miss when commercials were all about unobtainable blond bimbos holding the products in the air. not ugly fat guys with uglier beards.

Morally, I'm DEEPLY apposed to the Cash4gold or anything like that. Remember, P.T. Barnum said "There's a sucker born every minute." I also hate the Mega Tea green tea supplement thing that focuses on slightly chubby women's guts and the announcer says "Does Belly fat make you look like THIS?" and emphasizes the fact about how disgustingly fat these not that chubby women are with tympani drums... you know the big Boom Boom Boom ones. But that's not even half as offensive as Subways slightly out of shape people falling off diving boards and breaking chairs ads. GAH! Get Jon Lovitz back and make us WANT to eat there, and not want to throw bricks at your windows.

Geico commercials are always annoying; whether they include the 'So easy a caveman can do it.', Geico Gecko, or 'tricking' kids out of having/doing something.

Baskin Robbins-The IceCreamandCakeandCake..very much so, I agree.

The overly friendly Progressive ads. I heard her state in an interview that she made her character friendly on purpose.

Purdue ads. I find Jim Purdue too 'in-your-face', especially when he's real loud.

Exercise equipment of any kind and also the ab-shocking belt. I bought one when it first came out, it doesn't do anything but give off electric shocks and it hurts.

Cash-4-Gold with Steve Wilcos and Jerry Springer. Need I say more lol.

Lawyer & bankruptcy ads. 'If you have a phone, you have a lawyer.'

'Jack says, "Yes!". Com.'

Bill's Carpet Warehouse.

The commercial, where everything around turns into a satellite dish.

5-Hour Energy drink. Has anybody tried this and does it really work?

Beggin Strips. OMG!

Droid..Cool commercial, with an annoying voice saying,'Droid'.

Berry to Mint! (Flavor changing gum)

The commercial for Pretzel M&M's. I find it disturbing.

Infomercials that state: 'get another one free, just pay separate shipping and handling. It's not free then. *face-palm*

The balancing Tic-Tac ads.

I really hate how we're the only country that allows prescription medication commercials on our television broadcasts. The ones that really get on my nerves are the vanity drugs like Viagra, those pills you take to give you fuller eye lashes that destroy your eyes and changes the color of them and your skin around the eyes, and especially those commercials for sleep aides that make you drive around in a dress and crash into a tree in your sleep.

I'm sorry... but if you can't sleep because of stress at work, the problem is simple... you guzzle coffee to stay awake every hour on the hour, and caffeine doesn't affect you until much, much later. Dangerous meds that cause you to do things you can't remember aren't worth it. Just stop drinking the junk.

I'm on a life long quest to find a way to outlaw the infomercial. That's the laziest thing local station owners can do... put on programming no one will watch that you get paid for. Lazy, lazy, greedy and cheap. That's what kid's get when they wake up Saturdays... Kevin Trudeau's "The government's out to get me" insane look. Of course the Government's out to get them. he's been scamming people for years and has a rap sheet longer than his books of pilfered information.

Cash-4-Gold with Steve Wilcos and Jerry Springer. Need I say more lol.
I already said this, but those are the biggest scams that prey off stupid people (really... how much cheap costume jewelery did you have to buy?). I especially love how they also have to keep mentioning "recession" and "Times are tough" a hundred times in each advertisement. They're almost as bad as the subliminal gold coin commercials where they say "During the Great Depression people couldn't get enough gold coins. No one wanted to face economic uncertainty without the security of gold." Jeez... make the country hate everyone even worse so you can sell your overpriced cheap gold plated fake collectors coins.

You mean like those "Pull-A-Part" bodyshop commercials? "Need some headlights? No problem!"

I kinda thought that one was pretty cute, myself.
Geico commercials are always annoying; whether they include the 'So easy a caveman can do it.', Geico Gecko, or 'tricking' kids out of having/doing something.
Okay, now the Gecko was annoying at first, back in the day when Kelsey Grammer voiced him, and all the Gecko commercials were basically "Hello. I am a gecko. Not to be confused with Geico, which can save you 15% or more on car insurance. So please stop calling me... *Licks eyeball*" Then there was a period where the Gecko was silent for a few years, so it was kind of hard to find annoyance with those commercials. The first time we heard Gecko speak again was that "Everybody was kung-fu fighting" commercial, afterwards, we found ourselves with the current Australian gecko we all know and... love? I think today's Gecko is much more appealing that the original or silent. As for the Cavemen, they've been played out. The commercials were amusing, and even funny at first, but they got pretty old pretty fast... they did get a little fresher for a period where rather than actually do "so easy, a caveman can do it", they were more candid-style commercials where the Cavemen suddenly find Geico ads popping up in everyday situations (one of them and his hot girlfriend at the beach when suddenly a plane towing a Geico banner flies overhead, the Cavemen at the bowling alley when they see a Geico ad on the pin collector, even at a party where one of them is being chastised by another for switching to Geico for car insurance). But now, they're pretty much old again going back to the old "So easy, a caveman can do it" gimmick. And their short-lived sitcom was very disappointing. As for current Geico commercials with that guy going "Can Geico really save you 15% or more on car insurance? ..." the only one of those that was funny was Honest Abe.
Baskin Robbins-The IceCreamandCakeandCake..very much so, I agree.
Thank you.
Beggin Strips. OMG!
Today, yes, but the old-school Beggin Strip commercials were much better.
The commercial for Pretzel M&M's. I find it disturbing.
Yeah, pretty much.

The one with the drawings and Pure Imagination, and then some kind of vague voiceover. It's cute, I guess, but I have no idea what it's for. The Geico ones with the stack of money WITH EYES. "I always feel like, somebody's watchin' me..." freak me out. Geico in general I can't stand no matter what they do.

The awful thing about the Progressive commercials is, "Flo" reminds me very much of a girl I went to college with. YIKES!

My current least favorites:

The family of 4 on the Dairy Queen Blizzard anniversary commercials.

"Under a waaaaaaaaaterfaaaaaaaaaall...." Wonka chocolate

"Berry to mint!"- the awful Stride Gum commercials that look SO low-budget (saw now that someone else mentioned these, too)

The "Shine On" Sunny D commercial... First of all, Sunny D has been proven as one of the least healthy kids drinks out there, so Martina McBride giving her kids that would not have any bearing on her status as a "responsible mom." And second, who got paid way too much to write that "song"?

Also, I can't believe the "AFLAC!" duck is still around.

I've said it a hundred times, but in NO WAY do junk food commercials deserve half the scrutiny it gets, especially when everybody lets commercials for get rich quick schemes, health products that range from harmless hoaxes to dangerous medicine, and above all anything that can be sold on in Infomercial run wild and free.

However, I will say that when they advertise junk food as healthy, that DOES cross a line indeed. I still don't get sugared Yogurts... you might as well give them ice cream. But above all, kids may be susceptible to commercials, but adults are even easier to sway because they know how to push an older person's buttons.

Well, let us not forget, Drtooth, we live here in a society today where if women are like over size 2, they're "fat"... remember when Jessica Simpson put on a few pounds last year? She actually looked great! Like a NORMAL woman! The best she ever looked, in my opinion, but everybody else in the media was like "OH MY GAWD! LOOK HOW INCREDIBLY FAT JESSICA SIMPSON GOT! WHAT HAS SHE BEEN EATING? ! SHE'S HUGE!" Again, THIS is why we have people who are starving to death and literally killing themselves because it's gotten so bad that even if you have a typical/average body shape/structure, you're "fat". It's really upsetting to someone like me who's struggled with weight throughout most of his life... it's actually a proven fact that there's more weight discrimination in America today than there is racial discrimination, and the media is out there proving it.

I could post a huge long thing about that. I have a conspiracy theory that this "Fatt peeplz iz icky" stuff was headed up by the thinspiration/ Thin Supremacy freaks that told teenage girls in the 90's to barf up every dressing free salad they ever eat to look thin and perfect with those oh so smexy ribs poking out and figure of a malnourished little boy. I swear they were plotting revenge ever since they were looked down on as killing everyone. I still say someone's cooking the books about the nation's health issue, and we don't know the real deep darker truths because shifting blame is just much easier. But really... Subway has NO RIGHT to air these offensive commercials. Especially since they have (and this was proven) the worst subs anywhere. No one really even likes to eat them. Especially when everywhere you go, you have at least 5 mom and pop sub/pizza shops.

Now back to the thread

I HATE those Jimmy Dean ads with (everybody all together now) ugly people with uglier beards dressed in planet costumes. And one of them is an ugly foreign guy. Why does every commercial have to look like it's some low budget Office/Napoleon Dynamite ripoff? And must they saw Awesome? I hate that word. Living in Boston, you'll know what I mean.

I also think the Tech Talk commercials for Metro PCS with the Indian guys is boarderline racist. Heck, kick out the word boarderline... it IS racist. What, so we can make fun of Indians now?
