On a bright note, Hillenburg returned to act as the film's executive producer. Now does that mean that the film will actually be good? We'll have to wait and see.

The film is also being written by the Monsters Vs. Aliens writers, which is a somewhat good sign.

It's been known for quite some time now that a sequel is being made, it's confirmed for a February 2014 release, and is going to be written by some of the writers of Kung Fu Panda. I'm 99% sure they're going through with this, there's too much info about it for it to be just a possibility.

I heard February 2015.

Anyway, I don't see why it took them almost 12 years for a sequel when Rugrats had 3 in 5. But then again, they aren't even thinking of a second Simpsons movie beyond the "we sure would like to do one at some point" level, and that's been around for 25 years.

As long as the government is in Limbo, all national parks, monuments, and attractions are shut down. Wanna visit the Grand Canyon? Statue of Liberty? Hope you don't have your heart set on it, you'll have to wait a while.

The hourly-wage workers who staff these attractions can't collect a paycheck (but still have bills to pay), while our senators and representatives can still get paid for doing nothing.
Show me any other job, where you can get paid six figures and have your productivity at zero, and not run the risk of getting fired... tell me where to send my resume, I want that gig!

Someone much wiser than me once said, "There are pro's and con's to everything. So if "pro" is the opposite of "con", then CONGRESS is the opposite of PROGRESS".

Ya know, I honestly think that the American people should just stand up and show these capitalist fatcats that they shouldn't victimize us because they refuse to agree with Obama on trying to provide decent healthcare for rich AND poor: go back to work, go to national parks, go about your normal activities, force yourself past any kind of security and demand to go about your own personal business and let them know the squabble in the government is of no concern to you and therefore shouldn't effect you.

The Tea Party. They're like a vast minority of Americans, and even a huge minority when it comes to Republicans. They're a disorganized group of wanna be Libertarians that have a fifth grader's view of American History...a C and under student understanding at that... that think they're these big Patriotic Anarchist heroes, but they're really a bunch of every nasty name you could think of. And especially, puppets of corporate nincompoops that have to cheat to squeeze out more profits that they could make ethically if they weren't a bunch of blind greedy spoiled rotten children of rich parents. In other words, the Tea Party that absolutely has no trust in the government trust those that want to turn the government to their will and bring back Industrial Age era business practices. Again, because CEO's are too freaking stupid and or gluttonous to make money without bribing the government (which costs money) or screwing workers (less people buying stuff AND boycotts, less money taken in).

So, everything is because a small fraction of the American People voted for a slight majority/not a majority but can still Filibuster amount of the worst politicians we've ever seen that the rest of the country can't do anything about. We lost the system of checks and balances, and now Congress has all the power. Remember how said Tea Party was whining its collective heads off about how Obama was going to be this horrible dictator? Well, turns out the very same politicians that these self righteous, selfish man-children elected have ALL the power, making the small majority in Congress the REAL dictators of this country. Way to keep up that Uhmurrrican spirit, band of people who are in no way complete idiots/stubborn old prospector wanna bes.

Personally, I laughed my butt off when Lindsay Graham (the MOST effeminate name ever, by the way) discovered that shutting down the government meant that they were also sending a LARGE number of Anti-terrorism agents home without pay.

That of course means, the Reps have become so incredibly far right, they accidentally broke the very same platform they were running on and scaring the country with back during the Bush era. Nice job breaking it.

Meanwhile, their own party keeps passing the moral event horizon. I'm freaking sick of them. Their idiotic attempt to keep scaring Fundies with birth control and homosexuality, their manipulative endeavors to call anything that helps the working class out just a little bit "socialist" like anyone really knows what true socialism is, and overall painting a weak president they don't agree with as the worst thing ever. It's the tired bellyaching of morbidly obese little brats that always get what they want (they do) and cry that it's not enough.

Not to mention the whole following Boss Limbaugh's orders of making the president fail. You remember him... the gigantic cesspool of bile who is a womanizing, drug abusing, waste of human life that the Republicans supposedly don't like, but are too afraid of his wrath to stand up to him. Oh... and Glenn Friggin Beck. The school yard bully who can't even keep his own completely fabricated tin foil hat conspiracy theories straight. The president hates black people, the president hates white people... pick a lane, you human ulcer. Actually I take that back. In no way is that guy human.

They WANTED the government shut down, and their attempt to shove the health care bill killing legislation in a funding bill was a sneaky attempt at a "Heads I win, Tails you lose" where they get whatever they want regardless of what went down. All to please a bunch of loonies that hide behind the Constitution so they can keep up their selfish, childish, regressive behavior. These are the same people who were ever so in love with the government when Bush and his uniminded cronies were bullying everyone to love his war pet project.
