People say that he is first introduced in the Muppets Tomight, but he was one of the hosts in a 1993 Sing along video with Kermit. Was he introduced in the It's Not Easy Being Green music video or what?

I personally was introduced to him through the "It's Not Easy Bein' Green" video. It's probably the nostalgia that keeps me from disliking him like others seem to.

Is it coincidence that both Kevin Clash's major characters from Sesame Street (Elmo) and the Muppets (Clifford) are not very well liked by many people here? Just an observation.

Clifford was Kevin's first (and only) real lasting Muppet character to date. Kevin joined Henson in 1985, Clifford was created in 1988 and first appeared in The Jim Henson Hour (1989). Clifford has appeared in: The Muppets' Wizard of Oz, It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, Muppets From Space, Muppets Tonight, The Muppets Celebrate Jim Henson, The Muppets at Walt Disney World, Easy Being Green Home-Video, The Jim Henson Hour, and more.

PS - I love Clifford (he is in my top 10 favorite Muppets of all time)

Clifford wasn't in Its a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie. But I didn't know Clifford was introduced then. I knew Kevin came to the mUPPETS IN 1985 (And his first film where he actually had a character was Follow that Bird and he performed Elmo).

I think I remeber seeing him in MCJH, though it was a really long time ago. He was walking around backstage in the theater trying to get Fozzie to calm down about something, wasn't he?

Ha! Yeah, and Elmo did absolutely nothing in the movie but stick his head out of a window for 2 seconds.:stick_out_tongue:
