Whats with N/A?

How come in some people's profiles there's a N/A ( Not Available) in italics? How do you get that there? Just curious..

If people go into "invisible mode" their profiles have the N/A.

That's kinda silly. Why would they hide profile info even when someone is invisible. Now I will know when everyone is invisible. Kinda defeats the purpose of the feature, huh?
