That's so true, yet so sad to think about. It's like with June Forary telling everyone she'll continue to do cartoon voices until she dies. The body gives up before the passion, and I have such a high respect for performers like that.

Oops! It's Foray, not Forary! And since I hate when everyone knows I edited my post, I'm saying it here! :stick_out_tongue:

Matt only does BB during those segments...he may perform the body other times but Carroll usually loops the voice...I heard they are training John Tartaglaria to perform Oscar after Carroll...idk if this is true but....

Look, we know it, they (the prefromers) know it- NO ONE COULD EVER REPLACE CAROLL. BUT he also cant do it forever, Hes played Big Bird for what? 37 years now? ish and hes either going to be 70 or 71 this year. So with that said, HE CANT DO IT FOREVER, what do you want done? have Big Bird and Oscar written out of the show?! I mean, when Jim died did they just shut down? no, Is Steve as good as Jims Kermit? no, but he does a dang good job for not being Jim, and because of it we have enjoyed his Kermit for the past 16- yep thats right 16 years. What would you have done with out that? most of you arnt even that old. You would have never had heard of him, Steve kept Kermit alive, made you love him, made you go look up Jim, love Jim. How would you like it if Sessame Street went off the air before your kids could see it? what if there was no Big Bird? No Oscar? No Kermit? no nothing. How would that effect your life?

SO the point im trying to get at- is SOMEONE SOMEDAY HAS TO TAKE OVER CAROLL'S PUPPETS- I mean, if the poor guy wants to retire, why cant he? Its not like they are getting rid of him. Its hard to think of and accept, but we have to. So please please please, dont make too much of a fuss when someone elce trys to learn and copy Caroll, they know they are not him, they know he is and always will be Big Bird and Oscar, and his spirit will always be with them. As Jims is with them all.

I totally agree that time marches on, and torches have to be passed. And it's great when it works (Like Jim Cumming's V.O. work in animation.).

Except Steve's Kermit just makes me miss Jim's even more.
