Love that special! It's so intense, thought! Don't feel for the cutesy-ness of it at all.

I used to rent that as a kid. I even made a copy and it's somewhere in the house. There are so many creepy things in that special XD I remember pancake sandwiches, a baseball cap collection and that evil queen.

You guys are right, there were some creepy and intense moments. I do remember being freaked out when the little girl gets frozen. In a way, I think that's what's missing from kids shows today. The shows we grew up with had a mixture of cute and unsettling. It was a full story that tugged on your emotions. Nowadays there's no middle ground. Either shows are way too cute...or way too disturbing!
