Irving Taylor was the composer, but not the singer. He wrote other comedy and novelty songs, too, including the Theme Song to F Troop.

Soupy used to use the original recording. Pookie the Lion, a puppet, would come out and "lip sync" to it. After Soupy recorded his own version, he stopped using the original.

As a Turkish, I can confidently tell you that this word, "pachalafaka" means absolutely nothing. It's a nonsense word.

The veiled man joke is probably from the fact that you can never tell a person's gender apart when they are covered like that. In Turkey, people trick each other like that quite a lot for fun.
