What about double layer fleece with fusable interface in between each layer?

I almost thought about stiff felt, I'm assuming white stiff felt would accept dye..?.. I don't know if felt is dyeable.

Try hat felt. It's stiffer than normal felt and doesn't bobble so easily.

Not sure if it's dyable, worth a try though, and yes it is thicker/stiffer.

u will have to expeiriment , u will not find a pre made day that is exact, mix and match differnet colors at different temps, and different times, see what you come up with

a note on the new fleece, it is very , very stretchy , u might have to adjust your pattern , and maybe even use some sort of interfacing inorder to make it work, as i have stated in other posts the fleece used on kermit is not the stuff you are ordering from Kathy it is a custom made fleece made in the late seventies for the fisher-price kermit plush toys, its stiffer and less stretchy that what you are going to be getting

How close is the Fisher Price Kermit to the real Kermit?

I see the RIT site says you can send a piece of material to them and they will custom make you a recipeit to match it.

its exact thats the same material, (although most you see these days are sort of dirty , but the 1977 hand puppet and plush are the same material that kermit is made from

that really doesnt seem like it's worth the expense, i would also look at maybe using Algo dye, do a google search for it, the colors are nicer than rit, and much more vibrant,
