But doesn't it have roughly the same message? I mean, of course nothing would ever be able to fully measure up to the original, but isn't that the same for most sequels? In an age where a lot of the target audience probably doesn't have the attention span to watch Mister Rogers, isn't it commendable that they at least try to get as close to the original as possible in terms of message and tone, so that kids can at least come close to having the warm feelings that their parents got from?

Yeah, no. Parents are being deceived. Daniel Tiger is another one of those nuisance kids TV shows that's all happy and sugar coated and teaches no moral values at the end of the day. DTN comes nowhere near close to Mister Rogers' message to children. Fred taught social and moral values that many kids did not have a chance to discuss with their parents or any other trusted adult. Daniel Tiger... well...
Fred was very strict on the way messages are delivered to children. He made sure not to make it seem like everything was happy and wonderful with sunshine and rainbows and the world was okay because it just wasn't realistic. Besides, telling that to kids would be a huge letdown when they grow up. As I said before,

Is there a new documentary out? I hadn't heard. Honestly, Tred Rogers seems like a pretty dull subject to make a doc on. It's like the filmmakers just said, "Welp, Big Bird has a documentary, so I guess we have to make one about Mr. Rogers now, I guess."
