Veoh has a copyright policy that complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act; there are details here. That being said, why not leave it up for people to enjoy and share?

It's a great show btw!

Well Done Gordon,

Puppets look great , and your sets and miniatures are amazing, beutifal work!

very little to critize, only thing that maybe distracted me was a little rough puppetry on a couple of characters(nothing that a lay person would notice, ), just a slight bit of floppy mouth syndrome, but i think that with more time that is something that will go away ,

again i really enjoyed it, clever jokes, nothing to blue, .(which is much more impressive considering how must "Adult" puppet shows use foul language, and over the top sex talk as a crutch )a great premise, and fantastic overall production value, and what a great animated opening, and the great rock-a-billy/surf rock theme .

seriously, i truly envy what you did, it really put a fire under my @ to get soem more work done onmy pithc pilot.
I hope we get to see more

Best wishes with it

and congratulations to you, your fellow puppeteers, and the crew behind it all!

A pilot is always tough. Characters aren't fully formed, you're feeling your way with an untried cast and crew, script is loaded with exposition, etc. etc. We need to keep training our puppeteers (including me). We're all pretty much novices, so there was a LOT of creative cutting going on in the edit to make sure lip synch was maintained. You can hide quite a bit of bad puppetry in the final cut!

The two consistent comments we get are "Faster pacing" and "more jokes". Nothing I wasn't fully expecting.. along with "train your puppeteers better"!

The biggest laugh we get consistently is from the "fishing" joke. It's sly and fast, so it's not exactly in your face. There's usually a beat when people ask themselves "did I just hear what i thought I heard?" and then they laugh out loud.

The music is by a New York band called The Coffin Daggers. They do some really kick-butt beach-guitar/ Munsters style tunes.

I got pretty lucky to fall in with a group of quality people for this one. Folks that are committed to the success of the show in a professional attitude. They all seem to see the same potential I do for it and are willing to hop on the train and shovel coal until we reach our destination.

In the words of Floyd Pepper (and Jerry Juhl) "Nothin' to it, but to do it!"

I hope we get to see more
Me too!

Thanks!

Its a double-edged sword, leaving it up. I am concerned that having it floating out there will affect the sale-ability of the property in the eyes of potential production houses. In short, I don't know what the effect might be on the deal.

Probably nothing.

In any case, The Puppet Forge needs to at least make a show of attempting to protect it's property rights and establish the precedent that we will protect them when they really are infringed. The court actually takes that into consideration in those sort of cases. We know they pirated us, we know how to contact them. If we ignore them completely we run the risk of appearing to not care...setting a precedent in the opposite direction.

Its screwy, but that's the way it goes.

Congratulations on a VERY well-crafted work (in ALL aspects from design to writing to performance to directing)! Your production values were very high and I can see the sort of careful attention to small details that really distinguish this work, and raise it to another level.
Thanks! I'm glad people are noticing! That was my part! Hee!
Your post-production is top notch, too (I didn't see any real dialog looping issues you had mentioned you were forced to do because of some live audio recording bugs).
Michael slaved for a month getting the sound right. It wasn't pretty. we're going to be using wireless mics from now on. You know... do it the RIGHT way.

The format and premise of this piece is wonderful and really lends itself well to an episodic series. I could even see this going in a sort of MST-3k direction... only with much shorter clips that will be commented on (like your hilarious Star Trek sketch).
That's pretty much where we're headed. The F-device is really going to end up being the star of the show, I'm sure. The parody stuff is the hardest to do, but the best received.
It would be great if you get the seed money and backing to produce this as a web series (with sponsors) or if Comedy Central bites on it (and they SO should) so it could be shown and enjoyed by a much wider audience. In spite of the obvious stomping on your IP rights, I am very glad you clued us in this illegal upload so that we could take a peek.
I still haven't found anybody who can tell me how to make money doing a series for the web. the only thing people want to pay for online is porn. And they only do that because they have to!

But we're sending it off to many many many potential backers and seeing what the response is. I've gotten nothing but positive feedback from all quarters, so I feel pretty solid about it all.

There is a lot of people starting to make a decent living off web series - or at least paying their production costs. It's hard, but do-able. The most successful shows seem to target a specific niche. Blip.tv is helping a lot of shows get sponsorship, but you do have to demonstrate that you have an audience. The general rule of thumb seems to be that if you can have an audience of 20,000 or more you can at least break even.

That's an audience of 20,000 or more paying viewers, yes? Not just 20,000 viewers.

Just want to be clear.

You mean if 20,000 people look at my blog, I won't make any money?

Sorry for the "floppy mouth syndrome"....I was distracted by what was going on behind the scenes:wink:. After being put through the paces of Spencer's puppet workshop, I think you'll see it a bit smoother...F'in ping pong balls

Thank you again Gordon for the fun! Can't wait to do it all again! You need to add the "outtakes" to the DVD!

Hello from Batfink!

Sorry about the "floppy mouth syndrome"...was dizzy on fumes from Furry's lunch:wink: I promise to get better.

Seriously, let me give a huge, "thank you!" to Gordon for letting me play with a bunch of talented and sick individuals...really, my kind of people!

Gordon was kind enough to have Spencer (can't think of his last name) put us new and experienced puppeteers through the paces of official puppet bootcamp, or handcamp....I officially hate ping-pong balls!

Can't wait to start the next episode!
