Small addition: in the cold opening, when Johnny says "Every time I think I've hit rock-bottom, somebody throws me a shovel, one of the workmen should throw his shovel onto Johnny's dressing table. CAN'T BELIEVE I didn't make the connection before. And I just happened to use that phrase, too, without any thought to the fact that there were shovels IN the scene. Talk about hindsight.
