Well, I guess I'd better post this thread before mikealan beats me to it. Here are some J-sponsored segments I recall:

1 J Friends. This classic song can be found on the album The Sesame Street Muppets' Alphabet Album.
2 J Jump. This is another classic early SS song, but with live action film clips.
3 This is My J. Sung by Biff at the construction site whilst a lower case j is hoisted higher and higher by a crane.
4 The J-Family Job Jamboree. This is an animated song about a family where all the members have jobs that begin with the letter J. For example, the singer's brother flies a jet plane; his nephew drives a jeep; Junior, the singer's son, is a jitterbug; and the singer's sister juggles sheep.
5 J Jaguar. This animated short segment is part of the limerick series. The voice sounds the letter J first, then says "Jaguar". After that, jigsaw puzzle pieces fit themselves in place until we see a jaguar in its native jungle. The jaguar lets out a feline roar before the voice says its intro a second time.
Do you guys have any memories related to this joyous jokeful letter J?

I definately remember the one with Biff. I believe that was one of his few appearances without Sully.

Speaking of J, I remember many memories that are sponsored by the letter J. Mine were...

1) J Friends (sung by the AM's; available on the album, Sesame Street Sings the Alphabet)
2) J-Jump (never heard it, but it's available on the first SS album)
3) This Is My J- sung by Biff; you already talked about it; saw it on the 1980 episode of SS-it's non-Noggin.
4) The J Family Job Jamboree (an animated segment/song)
5) Animated segment: J-Jaguar
6) Animated segment: J for Jacket
7) Animated segment where a tall lady-like person tells a story about the letter J where it ends with her jumping in the lake
8) The J Train (an old animated segment where a pink J rides on wheels)
9) David's J tricks
10) Preview from the A&E Biography special of the animated segment where two round boys think that the J is really a fish hook, but the J says, "It's not a fish hook, it's a J!"
11) Letters In Sand-J
12) The typewriter guy: j-jump-typewriter sees the frog jumping, then at the end, he jumps like a frog
13) The spanish j cartoon with words like "jugar"
14) The J-Joke segment where the letters o, k and e giggle-I don't think I saw it
15) Kermit's Newsflash: Alphabet Mine-it ends with the AM letting Kermit carry the J

What J segments are shown on Mr. Hooper's Death episode and on Oscar's Grouch Appreciation Day episode (from 1990) at the Museum of Television & Radio?

AND...
Do you remember any other "J" memories?

Here are a few more J-Memories.
"This is My J" sung by biff is shown on some episodes of Sesame shown on Noggin, that's why I have a clearer memory of it having seen the song a fair number of times on their episodes. Sully does appear in the song, he's off to the side working the crane that lifts Biff's j. The problem is that as a silent character, one tends not to notice him unless Biff has any direct interaction with Sully. The J jacket animated segment is nice. The announcer says that the Jacket does several J-related moves, when two kids inside the jacket are actually moving the jacket as a joke. I loved the Alphabet Mine News Flash. Kermit received a J from the miners at the end of the segment, though he falls over from the weight of the giant letter. I knew I forgot to list the J-train animated segment, where a J on wheels rides around some old train tracks connecting to sets of letters to form J-words. After connecting to the sets of other letters, the newly formed J-train does what the word says. This segment ends with the J-train jetting its engine and crashing into a nearby wall, thus changing into J-J-J-Junk. Finally, there's Al's Alphabet Repair Shop. Here a female AM walks into the shop because her letter J won't jump. Yes, it jiggles, jerks, plays jazz, and jokes, but it won't jump. Then Al hooks up a pair of jumper cables to the J and starts it jumping once again with a jump-start. The J jumps so quickly that it jumps all the way to the left until it crashes against the wall and keeps jumping out the shop. The owner is then left to pay for the services. Hope this gets you into a J-jolly mood.

Oh! There's also Ernie and Bert dressed up as jesters springing forth from jack-in-the-boxes at the top of the J-page in the Sesame Street Dictionary and a story about the letter J that I can't remember right now. And of course, if that's not enough to get you jumping into a thread about a different letter by now, then let's throw in the song about J Jumping Beans from Encyclopedia.

Let's not forget the segment where Jughead (of Archies fame) makes an appearance.

"Jughead joined a jam eating contest, but couldn't open the jar, so he told the judge who said see the janitor, who told him to jump in the lake. Then he said he was only joking!"

I remember the Jughead sketch! I think you helped me about it! Thanks!

Excuse me, The Count, I have a comment for you...I made a thread that was sponsored by the letter I, but you've made a thread of the letter that comes after I is J! It's OK. I already did the D, V and X threads, but we're now doing the I and J threads. I think that we would stop to J and we will make other letter threads a little later...

Terribly sorry if this upsets anybody's scheme. Was I wrong to post a thread about the letter J? And besides, as long as others post threads about other letters whether in or out of order, the sooner we'll have 26 vonderful alphabetic conversations!

Vait one second! Now I know just why you're upset! The letter-based threads we have here, with the exception of my J thread, are the following: D, X, V, and I. These all translate into different numbers: 500, 10, 5, and 1 respectively. OK then, in that case I know what needs to be done. Mikealan, or anyone else for that matter, go ahead and post your threads sponsored by the letters C, M, and L or rather the numbers 100, 1000, and 50 respectively. Only then will others be satisfied and then we'll all be able to move on to other letter-sponsored threads. And if you're vondering just how I made this little deduction...
...vell, that's vhy they call me the Count von Count!

Guys!!! You've gotta hear this! I watched Sesame Street episode #3795 and the sponsored letter and number are J and 3! This was the episode where Telly wants his pogo stick back, but Zoe wants to practice playing with it. Here are the only J sketches I recall....

1) A strange live-action film where men dress like the word "JUMP". This film took place in Coney Island.
2) Big Bird presents the letter of the day and sees Telly chasing Zoe jumping on the pogo stick
3) The Typewriter Guy: J-Jump-It starts where the noo-nee-noo typewriter sees a brown toad jumping, then he tried to jump, but he couldn't make it, so he rides off going, "Noo-nee-noo-nee-noo!" and Telly still chases Zoe jumping on the pogo stick! I can remember seeing typewriter jumping like a toad at the end when I was a little kid.
4) J-Jump-a new live-action film where kids jump together
5) A song similar to B and R about the letter J. It starts with a small capital J popping out of the jelly jar, then a small lower-case j riding on a jet plane and both J's jog together and play jazz music. Finally, they stand together behind the fruit stand.
6) Letters in the sand-J (I remember seeing the I one on #3829, the L one on #3157 and the M and Y ones on the 1987-88 season during my 2002-2003 season.)
