The actor who played the sketchy mall Santa in "A Christmas Story" (Jeff Gillen) played the character Fats in one of my favorite Mst3k movies "Wild Rebels" (also my favorite "biker film episode" from season 2).

In UHF, RJ Fletcher tries to sabotage George's telethon to raise money to save the station by kidnapping Stanley Spadowsi. But since Stanley was responsible for the station finally getting decent ratings and saving the station before, did it ever occur to RJ to maybe make him an offer to host a show at Channel 8 and help bring in U-62s ratings? The one time when Stanley directly comes across RJ after being fired is when RJ inspects the station and he shows a bit of fear, showing he might be afraid of his former boss, but that doesn't mean he couldn't have tried to make a deal with Stanley. Besides, Channel 8 still had Stanley's old mop, they could have offered him back that mop in exchange for hosting a show on that station.

Okay, since @D'Snowth brought up "Let It Go" from Frozen on the politics thread:

I'll actually admit, I gave the movie a chance and I liked it. But holy ****, does the fanbase **** me off.

They give it too much credit than it's really worth, and the fact that it wasn't even a year old at the time and was already getting a musical just made me roll my eyes.

That girl I dealt with in my college named Molly that I brought up on a couple threads would get super butthurt if you talked smack about Frozen. Almost like the equivalent of a certain someone that gets upset if you **** talk Disney as a whole.

What I never understood was how the movie had a huge fanbase even before the movie even came out! I remember getting a commission on DeviantArt - including an OC/FC - and I had to look this movie up, because I hadn't even heard of it yet.

On another note:

Joel Hodgson, the creator and original host of Mst3k, happens to play Mayor Dewy on Steven Universe.

I remember being super hyped when I first found that out. :stick_out_tongue:

You know what I miss the most about hand-drawn animated shows? Watching how the art style evolves over the seasons. Watching the first episode of ED, EDD N EDDY even as we speak, and Ed looks so different with his smaller eyes, thicker eyebrow, and rectangular-shaped head.

COW AND CHICKEN's another good example: the first season looks almost nothing like the others.

Okay so random note, speaking of Ed, Edd 'N Eddy....

I remember as a kid always being intrigued whenever Double D would pull his hat over his face out of embarrassment or fear. Probably cause it showed the figure of his head shape.

I'm weird like that. :stick_out_tongue:
