Yup, I noticed before Shrek, it was somewhat rare for family films to have more than two movies. And then they had a fourth, now more films are having four films instead of just three. But gosh, I really wish they would've stopped after the second one. The first Shrek was good but the sequel was even better, they could've quit while they were ahead. Now the films have become so gimmicky and they've forgotten what made them special in the first place.
Y'know, while I don't think PUSS IN BOOTS was Dreamworks' strongest movie, I think it would still be cool if they could do spinoff movies about some of the other characters or maybe just an unrelated fairy tale that can take place in the same universe.
Still, you know what movie should've had a sequel? RISE OF THE GUARDIANS. Too bad it didn't do as well as Dreamworks would've wanted. But that's what happens when you put your movie against a Twilight movie, a James Bond movie and a big budget Stephen Spielberg biopic.
