The Song Of The Letter O

OK folks see if you can help me out with this one...their was a song about the letter O and not surprisingly I can't remember all the lyrics and really never did understand them even at the time since it was a very fast moving song. the only partial verse I remember clearly was the part that went.."so the toad went home to the telephone he spoke the goat who was eating a bowl of bones potatoes and so...o..o..o" The song ended with the singer saying "OK?"

Wow! I had totally forgot about that one!

And it wasn't untill I had read half way through the lyrics that I began to remember it. I dont really remember, though, if the words were spoken or sung. Was there a tune that went with it?

If you have to start a sentence with "not that I mean to sound harsh", it's probably better to simply not say it.

it was a song (folk guitar and some backup singers), though the lead singer was more "speaking" his lines than singing them i guess.

i remember this cartoon as well, and i was going to post something on here about it before, but i couldn't recall hardly ANY of the lyrics, and the animation is fuzzy to me, so i didn't even know how to describe it......it's a classic along the same line (though maybe not as well remembered) as the lowercase N and capital I ditties. i always liked this clip...wouldn't mind seeing it again, though i doubt the current SS has played it in years.

Pilfan, you might remember the beginning of that cartoon as having a bunch of O's gathering and then it shows just one O dancing on top of what looks like a moutain before going into the song

yeah i recall that...an animated "O", with a lot of others falling into it and a background chorus singing "oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh"...and the animated O bouncing on top of a hill top, with folk guitars strumming along...then the sequence begins.

but until the lyrics were posted, i couldn't remember anything else about it...except for a black-haired kid climbing a "mountain of Os".

the goat eating soap thing is wicked...a very unusual lyric for a kid's song and i'd doubt such a thing would get past the editors/censors today.
