And when you think about it, the most basic puppetry involves the movement and facial expressions, the voices are just the icing on the cake (which Frank Oz has pointed out many times).

I could be wrong because we've never really known any other way, but I think any attempt to give Beaker a "proper" voice would have lessened the impact. It's better to keep it a little weird and mysterious, hehe.

Yea and it's kind of like Animal ya know he is such a well rounded Muppet, with such emotion. I think Beaker is the same way, yet all he can say is MEEP.

You know you have to wonder why Bunsen chose an assistant who didn't talk per se. Though perhaps it was intentional, Bunsen could conduct his experiments with no apparent protests, lol.:eek:

LOL The following Stunt was closed captioned for the MEEP inpaired lol That has nothing to do with what you just said, it just came to me, and made me laugh. Subtitles for Beaker would be funny esspecaly if they where totlay what he wasnt trying to say.

Lol, that's cute. I imagine it could be one or two colorful remarks aimed at Bunsen (without going into detail of course hehe).

Chalk this one up under really wishful thinking, but I dreamed last night that Richard was making a school appearance in the town I write on for the paper. 'Course, in the dream I also had a terrible case of writer's block and deadline-induced anxiety, but that's par for the course.
Aw I hate when dreams play on fears like that, like when I dreamed that I missed the Sesame Street event, lol. But since I did in fact make it after all, I'm sure you would have finished your article too.

Yeah, I know - a perfectly good Richard-related dream ruined by my 10 different anxieties. It's like that one time, just after finals in college, I had a nightmare in which I dreamed I showed up completely unprepared for one exam and the professor wouldn't let me make it up.

But, yeah, we made it to the SST 40 event, and today I got all my articles filed on time...so there you go.

And back to the idea of Richard making a school appearance...wouldn't it be so cool to sit in on one of those?

There was a comment that heralde found on someone's MySpace or Facebook page a while back: the poster said that when he/she was in first grade, Richard brought Kermit and Scooter to visit the class. "It was the best day that decade ever saw."

And then, when Richard's niece was in the third grade, Richard put on a show in the auditorium for the whole school. "Boy, was I popular that day!"

Talking about dreams. I dreamed that Richard cleaned up my house the other day. Don't know why I remember this though, I hardly ever remember what I dream.

Lol, well his Mom did say on the Muppetcast that he had a thing about vacumming the house!

I love that poster's comment "the best day the decade ever saw." A little kid back in the day seeing the Muppets perform just for him would have been very exciting indeed.
