Aw, yeah B+ is just fine. Plenty of people would love that grade. Well now you'll be better prepared next time you have a paper to do, it can be very difficult. And when you get the opportunity to talk about something you like, you end up going on and on, lol. But that's great that the article got you some points! Sometimes presentations can definitely bring up a grade. What picture did you use? And what did you say about him?

I used Erin's finished quilt picture, just to give everyone an idea of what exactly he did on the Muppet Show.
It's funny, because although I didn't get much feedback in general, when I held up the picture one of the guys asked, "The white-haired guy in the balcony was named Statler, right?" Well, that just about made my day!

About Richard I gave his birth and death dates, said he worked with the JHP and listed the projects he did with them, sited some of his obits from different newspapers and the official press release from the JHP, and mentioned that he was perhaps best known for his whacky sense of humor and style!

Well, you gave it your best shot, Kate. I felt the same way when I got a so-so grade on one of my projects this semester. At least you got to write on something fun; I had to write on stuff like "Wuthering Heights" and ancient Egypt for my big term papers. And a B+ is still a really good grade, so don't feel too badly. And hey - your classmates at least recognized Statler.

Haven't been on in a bit because I've been over at school helping prep for commencement tomorrow, and a group of us from the junior class are serving as marshals. It's going to be our job to get all the seniors (about 600 of them) lined up and escort them over to the stadium for the ceremony.

Yeah it's great that someone remembered Statler's name. Usually people refer to them as "the old guys in the balconey!" Lol

Hope that commencement went well MN. Must be tough organizing all those seniors!

Everything went well, heralde, very well. I was assigned to two rows of political science majors; had to direct them to their assigned seats in the field house and give them their tickets before we brought them out...and one of the grads-to-be thanked us for being such a help.

Got a bit of a surprise today: at commencement, they sang Richard's song. And by that, I mean "That Lonesome Road," by James Taylor. A few members of the school's chamber choir got up and sang it after the awarding of the degrees. I thought they did a very nice job of it, very poignant...and of course, I sang along.

It's kind of amusing; since it was overcast and misty, they were going to cut the song and the extra speeches if the sun didn't come out - and so I'm sitting with the other marshals, and silently going, "Please, God, let the weather clear up, please..." - but about a third of the way through the awarding of diplomas, we saw some patches of blue sky poking through the cloud cover, followed by sunlight.

Wow, that's so wonderful, Erin. I'm so happy that you got to hear (and sing along with, hehe) that song! How beautiful and perfect. And I'm so happy that the commencement went well. What a great sounding day!

Well... You say the blue sky patches and sunlight weren't seen until the handing of diplomas? Xcuse me, but by that point, wasn't it pretty much pointless of hoping for the threat of inclement weather to vanish? After all, the songs and speeches were done, diplomas started to be handed out. Unless you have songs and speeches after diploma handing that is. Course, mine was indoors, so I can't rully criticize the decision that much if it was being done outdoors.

However, some of the grads were disappointed that they'd have to sit through the speeches after all...but then, God has a sense of humor, and so do some of the angels.
