And you're right, heralde: Richard might have been a little abrasive on the outside but everyone knows that on the inside he was a really sweet guy, both to friends and to strangers...after all, look at the story of the upset woman by the duck pond. Richard didn't know her (as far as we know), but she needed help and he gave it.

The Muppet performers have all been really tight-lipped about which guest stars they didn't get along with...but it'd be fun to know which ones they were.

You know, that song could get a lot of husbands and boyfriends out of the doghouse if they forget their significant other's birthday, anniversary or Valentine's Day.

But the question is, would Richard actually want you to use his Muppets wisely? Is there a way to even use Muppets wisely? If there is, Richard probably would not have been in favor of it.

Well I don't know, some of it is your own perspective. I'm more a fan of just letting the classic Muppet stuff speak for itself, rather than continually trying to recapture the glory with new projects again and again. But other fans feel differently. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

Well, when I read the phrase, I thought of whether or not "wise" and "Muppets" belong in the same sentence.

Granted, there are some words, like "sane" or "normal," that don't belong in the same sentence as the Muppets, but as for wise...it depends on the context. Richard himself said that there was a deeper meaning behind the Muppets' antics, in that they helped kids learn how to live with each other. "After that, you can get on to other important things." And then, of course, there are the completely off-the-wall moments.

But back to what you said, heralde - it's true, there is a split between the fans who just want the classic stuff to sparkle on its own, and those who want to see lots of new stuff. Like you, I'm mostly a fan of the classic stuff, but it is fun to see what the new cast and crew can come up with.

Well, maybe that can’t and won’t recapture the glory of the old days. The old days will always have that. It's just that I believe that they should just move forward look to the future. That's not to say they should forget their past, bit I don't think they should just only live in it either.

And if some fans only prefer the older stuff, that's fine, and they always will and that should always have that, and it should be made assessable. But there are also fans who want something new too, and that's fine too.

Sorry about last night, just ran into a bunch of really unpleasant people elsewhere. I've realized just how spoiled I've been posting at Muppet Central. We all disagree about a lot of things, but just about always manage to be civil and attempt to understand each other's points. Sadly, it's just not like that everywhere. But why worry about them, right? There's no point. Just be grateful for the people who are kind.
