Yeah I've heard about all that too, how he'd be dripping wet after each take because the costume was so heavy (it was from a real lion!)

The quote I mentioned earlier about Bert Lahr:

"Generally, he was slated for second-banana parts...too grotesque in close-up (his energy made him grotesque) to work in full form in films. It's very important to stress that he was so large a comic figure, I mean he radiated such energy and size, that the camera could only accept it as 'real' if he was an animal and not human."

Now that I think about it more, I realize that's basically what Richard was trying to say in the 60 Minutes show. The insantiy and silliness of the Muppets wouldn't work as well with human beings. It has to be seen with the guise of outrageous and colorful characters.

I think that's so true. But it also makes it more believable when it's with Muppet's too then it it were people.

I know; it's really interesting how the Muppets, who are sometimes written off as being pieces of foam and fleece, can project feelings and emotions that many human actors are incapable of. And as we've said, it's often easy to forget that there are humans down below the Muppets, giving them their voices (though we here at Muppet Central love to play a rousing game of "Spot the Muppeteer," of course).

I'm going to bring a little love to Muppets Take Manhattan yet again (Can't help it, it's just my favorite!), lol. As we've all said many times, the film is such an emotional roller coaster. And I'm glad the last major Muppet movie before Jim's death focused so much on Kermit. We got to see him branch out a bit, instead of being the straight and in control leader all the time. When watching him in MTM, you realize Kermit really is one of the most simple Muppets built (obviously one of the first of course). Yet, he is able to convey so much emotion and depth. That really is what they were all about and I think it indirectly ends up being a tribute to Jim.

Oh thanks, yeah that's from "Sidebottom Blues", one of the episodes that will be included on the Fourth Season Fraggle Rock set (Please let September come soon! Lol).

I'm going to go on record as Ms. Anti-Sidebottom. I mean I feel sorry for him sometimes, but Boober's always been my favorite and I like him just the way he is. I didn't think he needs Sidebottom in order to be funny!

But anyway, at least the moral of the episode is that fun without reason can only lead to disaster. And we do get to see Junior hypnotized into thinking he's a Fraggle! So I guess I can stand the Sidebottom stuff for once, lol.

Oh Yeah! I can't wait until the fourth season finally come out too! it's the kind of show that grows and gets better with every season. But I agree that Boober was funny enough on his on and he also rally was when ever paired with Wembly! Yeah I thought that was a very useful and practical moral myself! And I really have been wanting to see the episode where Junior things thinks he a Fraggle! Haven't seen it in such a long time!

Oh, me too...after all, I rully do want to see Richard's first crack at the directorial bat.

I did notice something, in what I've seen of "The Honk of Honks:" During that big scene in which Doc hears that Ned is sick, and he and Gobo meet each other for the first time, the camera angles are such that we're looking up from Gobo's point of view, and then down from Doc's point of view. I've not really seen that in other episodes, as far as I know. It's a really moving touch...was it perhaps Richard's idea?

About Sidebottom...I know; he's funny, but he is a little weird. But then again, this is Boober "Doom is my middle name" Fraggle we're talking about.
