Sorry to hear Thanksgiving wasn't great. Mine was good, but surprisingly good, because that's not always the case, lol. We forget that holidays are also a time of stress and problems. All we can do is be thankful for the things that do go right.

Oh man...if it's not one thing, it's another, eh, Sara? Hope things work out soon, hope your wrist heals, okay?
Look on the bright side - at least it was just your wrist that got hurt. That accident could easily have been a lot worse.

I know the feeling, heralde - holidays can be kind of harrowing. I think they started being harrowing for me when I was 13.
My break was marred by the amount of homework the profs assigned me - but the food was good and our jaunt to New York was fun, so there you go.

Yes, apparently I'm just a magnet for bad things to happen. :frown: Oh well. Thanksgiving was okay, but merely that. We made 15 lbs of potato salad and 2 smoked hams to take to our dinner with my "Gramma Wilma". She's not really my Gramma, but I call her that because her family sort of adopted my own family. (Our closest family is my grandparents, both sides who live equally about 2 hours away from us.)

Also, Rob may be proposing to me on Christmas day. I'm not sure, but he keeps hinting that my Christmas gift cost him a lot of money. Usually he sets his limits at $50 per person (which in my humble opinion is a lot of money to begin with) But he's been saying he paid more then $50, and it's worth more then $500....so I have no clue and it's getting me agitated.

Well, at least it was okay...and Sara, no one's really a magnet for bad things. We just have our rough spots from time to time, you know?

Hmm, who knows? Keep us posted on the 25th, won't you?

Let's see...well, I'm still covering campus politics. Tonight the SGA voted on its proposed new constitution - and it failed. I'm not surprised, seeing how controversial it is. And seeing as this silliness has taken up the entire semester, I think I'll send in a news analysis with my article.

Oh, another Muppet dream, recently. I dreamed I was looking at a couple of photos of the Muppet crew on the set of some show (prob. in the late 80s or early 90s). There were four performers (Jim, Jerry, Richard and Dave), each with a Muppet, gathered around a fifth, larger Muppet. As I recall, Richard was wearing glasses.

Exactly! It can be tempting to be superstitious and think all the bad things happen to you (I know I've thought that way from time to time!). It certainly can feel that way because we only see things from our own perspective. But in reality, everyone has bad days, and everyone has good ones.

Ugh, I know I had a Muppet dream recently, but I can't remember. Don't you hate it when that happens? lol

I'm sorry that happened to you, Sara.
*Huggles her lightly*

I truly hate forgetting my dreams.
Though, 99% of the time...I remember.
I had an odd one not too long ago.
It consisted of a strange pairing...
A muppet pairing.

Oh gosh, please don't hurt me for my strange taste in romantic coupling.
Heehee...
I am blushing.

Well, this dream inspired my newest fic "The Odd Proposal".
Usually, people prefer Miss Piggy/Kermit as a couple.
This story may just orient itself to Kermit/Piggy...but, I am starting to sway to Scooter/ Piggy as a couple.

*Hides behind a rock*

This may sound sick.
I understand Piggy to be older than Scooter.
Which is why the story takes place in his early 30's..just in case if I DO sway to the pairing. It won't violate anything...well...ergh.

The story reflects on my random dream...
So, I can't really say much.
Or it'll spoil the fic.

Richard Hunt would turn in his grave at the pairing!
Or...cloud. : )

Yeah, I like the cloud better.

Yeah, it'd have to be the cloud, since that's where Richard's soul is right now, and since he does not have a grave. Although, there might be some tremors in the peony bed at a certain house in Closter, NJ...and some rattling inside a wooden box somewhere on Cape Cod...

Personally, Claudia, I see Miss Piggy as being 15-20 years older than Scooter, which would put her somewhere in her 30s when Scooter was a teenager. And that would mean that the pig's pushing 50 if Scooter's in his early 30s...wait, hang on. (ducks as one of Miss Piggy's handbags goes sailing across the room and smashes into the wall)

(up in heaven)

Richard: Scooter and Miss Piggy. (pause, smiles evilly) Reminds me of that one joke I heard about...
Miss Piggy: Don't make me come up there, Hunt!
Richard: Why not, that'll be the day pigs fly, and...uh-oh. (ducks as he nearly gets hit in the head by another handbag launched by Miss Piggy) Jim never told me about this part...

Well, apart from my trip to New York over Thanksgiving break, not much. With finals nigh on the horizon, I'm up to my neck in all things academic. Let's see...five papers, a presentation on French politics, a few actual exams...ouch, I'm giving myself a headache just typing all that.

I had to give an oral presentation this morning in my class on Russian literature. I was feeling extremely nervous...but then I scribbled "Shut up and go for it!" at the top of my notes and I started to feel a little better.

I do the exact thing.
Except, I write it repeatedly until it's stuck in my head.
Yes, tactics of a derranged individual...but it's how I keep my head above the water.

I'm sure you'll do just fine.

*Runs out of the thread in hysterics*

What would Richard do?
