Heralde, I really admire your willpower in keeping that Muppet book hidden away. If I were in your place, the temptation to immediately start reading it would be awful.
Case in point: during my second year of college I placed an interlibrary loan order for "Of Muppets and Men." I remember that I was checking my e-mail one more time before heading out on assignment for my journalism class one Friday afternoon, and there was a message from the library telling me that the book was in. 30 seconds later, I'm roaring over to the library on my bicycle to pick the book up. So I definitely know where you're coming from.
Aw thanks! Though to be honest, my willpower comes and goes, depending on how eager I feel at that moment, lol. I understand your story about "Of Muppets and Men," I would have done the same thing! Lol

(chuckle) I even had time to read a little bit before I met up with my interview subject. And the book itself stayed on the table during the interview, underneath my notepad.

Lol, I've been there. I'm ashamed to admit I was once caught reading a beloved book under my desk in school. My teacher caught me, and I DON'T recommend that! Lol

Btw, my new signature is from the movie Young Frankenstein (though the line itself is meant to be a little ironic for anyone who knows the story lol). I was recently able to see the new Broadway show, and it was awesome! Now, it wasn't as good as The Producers, and I think the 2nd act was better than the 1st act. But overall, it was a lot of fun and it was great seeing Roger Bart again (I had seen him in the Producers a few years before). For awhile it looked like he might not be there due to a back injury.

Hope your birthday went well yesterday, MN!

I ordered the new Fraggle Rock CD, and it arrived yesterday. It's a nice collection, even if some of the songs are repeated on the different CDs. What I wanted to mention was that there's a great photo of Richard, Jerry and Steve singing on the set. It's really adorable, lol. Jerry has Gobo and Richard's operating Wembley. Richard's wearing the shirt from that photo on the MC tribute page, where he's holding Gunge (must have been a photo op that day).

I'm sure this was unintentional, lol, but the way they're holding the puppets, it looks like Jerry is choking Gobo with his arm, and Wembley's looking on completely stunned, lol.

Thanks, heralde; it was a good birthday. Spent some time goofing off a little bit with friends, and this weekend I'm going to celebrate again with my family.

Richard was operating Wembley? Hmm, very interesting, very interesting. And you know, it does seem that Richard has (or had) an affinity for the little green wembler - I mean, how many times has Wembley been teamed up with one of Richard's characters?

I love reading the liner notes of CDs - they often contain nice photos and interesting little tidbits of trivia.

Glad you had a good birthday MN!

Yeah! it is interesting that Richard was operating wembly. Dave did mention in an interview posted on here that Richard and Jerry were paired up a lot.

I'm with you about liner notes. I'm a big fan of trivia.

Ah yes, it's always fun to get to celebrate a birthday twice!

I was surprised that Richard had Wembley but the photo does look like just a spur of the moment thing, like a rehearsal of a song. Steve is standing right there, but you can't see if he's holding anyone. Maybe he was holding a "guest star" character. Or, who knows, maybe Richard had stolen the little green wembler, lol.

There is someone else in the photo as well, but unfortunately his head is obscure by a rock, lol, don't you hate when that happens?

I adore trivia, my friends always talk about my insane knowledge of things, lol.

Alright, that's it, I'm going to try my very hardest not to look at youtube anymore if I see anything Fraggle related! There's just too many not-yet-released episodes popping up! And if someone decided to post "Gone But Not Forgotten" I don't know if I'll be able to stand the pressure!

I'm with you on the trivia whiz routine. One of my professors remarked that I'd be a force to be reckoned with on Jeopardy...also, there's a musical trivia board game that my brother and I like to play with our parents. It's called "For the Record," and it deals with rock music trivia; one edition covers the '50s, '60s and '70s, and the other covers the '80s and the '90s. Whenever we all play, it gets a little brutal.

It sounds to me as if they were lip-syncing to a musical number or getting ready for a big crowd scene, in which case it really wouldn't matter who held which Muppet.

In Jim Henson: The Works, in the section about TMM, there's a photo of the performers in the pit outside Lew Lord's office, and it looks as if there's been a switching of puppets. Jim has Kermit and Frank has Miss Piggy, of course, but it looks as if Fozzie's been given to Richard and Scooter's been given to Kathy Mullen.

(incidentally, in Fraggle Rock, it looks as if Richard and Kathy's characters have been teamed up a few times as well)
